Today I am making love prevention spray. My kids to attend public school ( omg a homesteader who's kids do public school.... Gasp) anyway, over the previous years, live has been an issue from time to time. Sadly the teachers here, from what I've been told, aren't even allowed to tell a parent if they see lice and the schools won't check unless 2 or more parents complain from the same classroom, not the school, the same room.....( Most of us in our house has long hair or longer than typical hair for younger kids and I've always been super diligent about checking for lice every morning and evening, calle.paranoid but I'd rather deal with ALMOST any other bug instead of lice, so when my kid comes home with 10 adult lice and a grip of knits, you know there's a kid that's infested) Which I think is utter bs but that's a different conversation.... Anyway......school is getting ready to start next week here. I've been making this every year and spray it on my kiddos hair and scalp in the morning before it's styled. Now my kids have hair that's thick and on the side of a tad bit oily so we use rubbing alcohol that IS diluted by about half, us the essential oils. If you don't have or don't want to use rubbing alcohol, you can use witch hazel. So basicly my recipe is 1 cup water, 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol, 20 drops rosemary essential oil, 15 drops tea tree essential oil and 10 drops lavender essential oil. Mix well, shake before using. If this irritates your skin, dilute it some more. Since I've started using it, we've never had a problem with creepy crawlies hitching rides on our kids. Do not use on animals, essential oils react differently to animals than they do humans. #homemade #bugrepellant #homestead #school #essentialoils #homesteadinglife #homeopathy #naturalhealing #naturalmedicine #garden #kids #homesteading #naturalways https://www.instagram.com/p/CSnchdUr9K6/?utm_medium=tumblr
