Written for Day 3 of Buckley Siblings Week.
"Oh you think you're so funny, don't you?"
"I think I'm hilarious." Buck laughs at the expression on Maddie's face. "Jee thinks I'm hilarious too, right Jee?"
"No, uncle Bucky," Jee shakes her head, but she's laughing when Buck grabs her and tosses her into the air.
"No? What do you mean no?" Buck tosses her higher.
"If you make her sick, I'm making you clean it up."
"Wait, Maddie." Buck sets Jee down, still giggling as she pushes up onto her feet.
"Again." She launches herself at Buck's knee. "Uncle Bucky, again! Spin me!"
"I need advice," Buck pleads, scooping his niece onto his knee. "Eddie's coming back tomorrow, and I'm not ready."
"I've already given you my advice," Maddie tells him, handing over a glass of wine. "I think you should have done it on his birthday."
"It's a bit cliche," Buck remarks, taking a sip of his wine before placing it out of reach of Jeep hands.
"What did Chris say?"
Buck laughs. "He said I was taking too long, but Mads, good things take time right? I need this to be perfect."
"He's not going to say no," Maddie assures him. "Just ask him when he gets back tomorrow. I don't know why you're even coming to me for this? My first marriage didn't exactly work out, and Chim and I are quite happily living in sin."
Buck snorts. "You spoke to mom, didn't you?"
"Yes, but don't change the subject." Maddie takes a long sip of wine and jabs a finger in Buck's chest. "This is about your commitment issues, not mine."
"I don't have commitment issues," Buck argues. "Eddie and I have been together for three years."
"And yet you still haven't managed to put a ring on it."
"Yeah, that's why I'm here," Buck reminds her. "Because I thought my big sister might have some advice on how to propose to my boyfriend."
"Bad luck Bucky," Maddie teases, using Jee's (and Chris' old) pet name for him. "Ive got nothing, but I do have lots of wine, and Chim will be home soon to watch Jee."
"I can't," Buck says. "I've gotta pick Chris up from his sleepover later and get tidy the house before Eddie gets back."
"God, you're such a dad," Maddie laughs, hiding her smirk behind her glass.
Buck rolls his eyes. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing, it's a good look on you." She lowers her glass, studying Buck with a critical eye. "Eddie's going to say yes, we both know he's going to say yes. Don't worry about the details." Reaching over Maddie gives his knee a squeeze. "I'm so proud of you. You know that right?"
Buck laughs, ducking his head. "Yeah, I know. Thanks Mads."
As part of Day 7 of @thebuckleysiblingsweek, with a big thanks to @fireinyourkiss for giving me the perfect song, for Buck's love towards Maddie

Day Three - Favorite Scene
We're talking about the rest of your life. Being a firefighter is my life! It is the only thing I've ever done that was important and that mattered, okay?
