its black friday and its my second day on the job, youre trying to help me understand whats going on but there are riots in aisles 3-19 AU

preserum steve is an old hat at this, having worked BF a number of times, in various retail positions, and three times in that store
bucky is new and never ventured out on black friday, not wanting to risk it, and has never actually seen anything like this first hand.
bucky panicking a little when they open the doors remotely bc there are people already pushing at the glass
steve standing at one of the tills looking sympathetically at bucky as he’s trying to run up purchases as quickly as possible
the riot call goes out and bucky’s all like ??!!!?!?!
steve just shrugs and grabs a lighter from behind the counter
bucky’s like ‘uhh please don’t leave me i can’t do this i don’t even know what is in all of the aisles yet’
steve just shushing him and waving the lighter near the smoke detector
rioters start screaming (louder) as the sprinklers go off
manager growling at steve but quietly thankful because riots are hell on the shelving units
high school group science project everything is going wrong AU
it’s bucky’s fault. steve is very adamant about that, after the whole thing blows up.
(it’s not actually bucky’s fault. steve put in too much baking soda.)
volcanos are SUPPOSED to blow up, right? right??? so it KIND OF worked, right??? come on, dude, cut us a break, here, we need at least a B --
some of the red food coloring gets in steve’s hair, but then he likes how it looks so much he comes in with it dyed red the next day. dumb punk.
they end up getting a C on the project. bucky complains for weeks.
