Bubbles Up (Official Lyric Video)
he left us a present.....
RIP Jimmy Buffett
Bubbles Up, from the forthcoming Jimmy Buffett record "Equal Strain On All Parts" coming November 3rd, 2023.
Bubbles Up (Official Lyric Video)
Jimmy Buffett shaped the soundtrack of my life. When I was a precocious 9 year old raiding my dad’s tape collection, I discovered A1A from 1974. It was tuned to Tin Cup Chalice, my first Buffett song. A song about seeking comfort in the places you know best, going back to the island to die beside the sea. It’s always been my favorite. I didn’t even know Margaritaville until I was older and started buying my own music, which quickly included all of his albums. I was a grunge kid in my flannel, combat boots, and never ending love for Buffett. When I moved to Peru, I carefully selected which Buffett albums would make the trip and he continued to narrate my life through new adventures, heartbreak, and triumph. Jimmy sang when my kids were born. Jimmy’s music wakes me up every day. Jimmy came with us on every road trip, every flight, every time I needed a little more sunshine in my life. Jimmy gave me that light when I all could see was darkness.
I was so sad, deep down in my bones, when I heard we lost him last night. My condolences to his family and everyone who loved him. My heart has felt very fragile for a while so I’ll just let Bubba sing us out:
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic
But I had a good life all the way.
Bubbles Up - Jimmy Buffett - 2023
Good morning and happy Saturday. I heard this new Jimmy Buffett song yesterday and it hit pretty hard. Today's theme is a tribute to all those who have brought so much joy, who have been there for us through all our ups and downs and left us too soon. So today is "gone but not forgotten".
Be Safe Be Kind And Be Awesome

One of Jimmy Buffet's last songs. It's good.
I was always aware of Jimmy Buffet and generally like his pop music. But when I found out the cause of his death, I had a minor panic attack because I'm experiencing the "milder" version of what killed him. He died of metastatic squamous cell carcinoma. I've been undergoing eight months of treatment for squamous cell carcinoma, including four surgeries (the fifth and hopefully final next Thursday), and 30 days of radiation. The difference is that mine is not metastatic; in other words, it didn't scoot from my nose/upper lip/face to my lymph nodes, or otherwise take a ride through my body. My squamous cell cancer stayed where it erupted, so I'll survive. Jimmy Buffet did not, because his spread.
So when I hear this song, I pay attention. He was sick when he wrote the song and produced the video.
One of the songs from Jimmy Buffett's upcoming album, set to be released later this year. It's one of three tracks from the album that have been released, and it is, in a way, a farewell, but also a final piece of advice on life
