It's been forever since you first posted them, But I find it really cool that some Sims 2 Nightlife concept art for outfits/hair later got reused for Sims in Mysims (In particular I recognized Ray, Sapphire, and Zack). I wonder if There are more sims (in mainline or spinoffs like Mysims) who's appearance come directly from concept art?
It wouldnât surprise me. Iâve never played a MySims game but I know that Maxis loves two things:
1. Reusing unused assets and ideas.
2. Just flat out stealing assets from older games.
In The Sims, I think that a lot of the character concepts were modelled and textured and then named. For example, if you look at the head textures with a FAR editor in The Sims: Unleashed, youâll see that a lot of the character files have names attached to them which means that those characters were created with a specific premade sim in mind.Â
Sometimes the names donât line up with the actual premade sims that use them though. For example, Claireâs head texture is called âBethanyâ.Â
