TLC Summer Updates
Just so everyone knows, I will do my best to keep this blog active with positivity throughout the summer for all you folx struggling with families off campus! Feel free to shoot a message over at any time to get in touch with TLC or one of our eboard members!
Also, we have some exciting events in the Boston area this summer, so I’ll be posting about them here as they approach. If you’re in the area, stop on over and say hi! Maybe we’ll even welcome some new freshman at orientation!
And finally, a huge congratulations to our graduating seniors!! We’re so proud of each and every one of you. Remember, you always have a friend here at TLC no matter where your future takes you.
Love always, your new eboard president, Evan
What’s up guys, gals, and nonbinary pals!
The Trans Listening Circle at Boston University is still here!! This semester, we’re meeting on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm in the Center for Gender, Sexuality, and Activism in the lower level of the GSU, across from BU Central. Stop by, say hi, have a discussion about gender identity.
We aim to create a welcoming space for people of all different gender identities and work to improve BU’s resources for trans and gender non-conforming students. Can’t make the meetings? You can still follow us here for updates, resources, and posts about being queer!
Welcome back Terriers!
Welcome back to all our new and returning Terriers! This semester TLC meetings will be held on Mondays from 6:30-7:30pm in the CGSA in the basement of the GSU. But first be sure to visit us at Splash on September 9!! We can’t wait to see you all at our first meeting!!
What's up guys, gals, and nonbinary pals!
TLC is meeting this Thursday in the Center for Gender, Sexuality, and Activism in the lower level of the GSU from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
We're going to be screening Trans, an informative documentary made in 2013, focusing (shocker) on the transgender community. Of course, there may be some triggering material so I suggest doing some research if you're concerned.
Stop by! Bring your friends! We’re all excited to finally have a chance to watch this film so we hope you are too!

Here’s what to do before classes start!
Welcome back, Terriers! School doesn’t start until Wednesday, so we encourage you to take the next few days to make sure that you’re prepared for the semester ahead. Here are some things that you can do right now:
1. Look on Blackboard Learn for your course syllabi. Knowing what’s expected of you before you walk into the classroom gives you an advantage and can help alleviate the stress that comes with the beginning of classes. While you’re on Blackboard Learn, be sure to check out the ERC’s course under the student services tab.
2. While you’re looking at your syllabi, make sure that you know what books are required. You can get them new or used at BU’s Barnes and Noble.
3. Do you have medications? Get these prescriptions together now and know how and when to fill them when you’re here.
4. Are you starting an on-campus job in the fall? Call your new employer now and make sure you know what paperwork you’ll need to get paid!
5. Last but certainly not least, visit the Comm-Ave-Con today. From 1:00-4:00 pm, representatives from BU offices including the ERC, Study Abroad, Student Employment, Residence Life, and many more will be situated along the length of Commonwealth Ave. This is a great way to introduce yourself to all of the excellent resource that the BU community has to offer. Be sure to stop by the ERC’s table at Marsh Plaza to spin our “Wheel of Wisdom” and test your study smarts.
We’re so excited to have you back, and we hope that you take the next few days to prepare yourself for the semester to come!
