For the next few days the manor was in absolute chaos, the kids boasting and swearing on their honour that their costume would be the best, all of them screaming and yelling at each other all the time, engaging in constant sabotage and treating it like the most important mission of their life. Bruce just suffered through it with the patient of a Dad who's seen it all and was ok with every chaos going on in the manor as long as there wasn't any torture involved or maiming or injuring or stabbing...

On the day of the dreaded contest Bruce sat on the sofa feeling amused and light and could only chuckle to himself while picturing Dick in a (very predictable)superman suit or almost losing it at the image of Jason in the wonder woman armour. He knows all of them are going to be so extra about it because they love their respective superhero idols so much.

That's why when he looked up to see them in their chosen costume, his breath got caught in his throat and he had to remind himself that he wasn't dreaming because th—they all were dressed up as Batman, as him.

Every. Single. One of them was dressed as Batman, their costumes subtly different as each suit was equipped with something that was true to their own unique personalities and quirks.

And the next thing Bruce knew was that he was crying ugly and loudly on the couch— and immediately getting surrounded by Alfred and his kids all sputtering around him awkwardly with obvious concern— never having thought for a single moment that even one of his kids would dress up as him let alone all of them, that they'd consider him their role model— a person to look up to and admire after so many of his fuck ups and faliures.

All in all none of the kids went to the competition because spending time and cuddling with their mama Dad and Alfred in a huge cuddle pile while watching a shitty movie was way more important than winning any stupid award.
