â youâre okay. youâre safe. iâve got you. â
Sure, heâs safe. But what about her? Again and again these inner fears that his walls would come tumbling down and she would see the real side of him. One that he desperately tries to keep up. Toriel would surely abandon him if she ever saw it. everyone left. Thatâs just how it went. In his eyes, people were afraid of what th they didnât understand. Maybe e that she wasnât afraid. Which is why she stuck with him for so long. Drake finally felt..home. Was it because he was afraid to lose the one person who seemed to care about him? A non-human? Drake wrapped his arms around Toriel cradling his cheek against her as if would let go, then, things would go back to the ways they once were. The orphanage. The dark room! No! No, he wouldnât ever go back! âPlease, donâ... donâ let me go back to that p-place. Please, Toriel. Please.â His voice pleading with her. The thought of it even sent a horrible shiver down his spine                         Â
â hear this now â i will always come for you. â
Chara stared at the wall in front of them, pulling their knees up to their chest, not knowing how to answer and hating themselves for it. They still hadnât grown out of that stupid habit of running and hiding when they couldnât take things any more, apparently. Even on the surface, even when things should have been perfect, they still had to go and ruin it. It had been a long way out to Waterfall, but this was the corner theyâd always gone to curl up in. They hadnât expected anyone to find them so soon. Hadnât even expected people to notice they were gone. But it was Toriel, of course she knew what they were like. Chara felt a little of that old warmth kindle in their chest, but quickly pushed it down. It was idiotic, to still care about someone who didnât - couldnât - care about them still.Â
âWhy bother? Itâs not gonna change anything. Youâre wasting your time. Just forget about me.âÂ
â donât panic, itâs alright. â
PANIC SHE DOES, it coming out in a burst and a yelp when her vision cleared enough to the... cow? goat? lady goat-- whatever the stranger was, it was a fright for damn sure.  it made her suspect she most certainly hit her head when she fell-- her head felt like it was spinning, no pain however... no black spots or sting to the cornes that would indicate a head wound...  CLEMENTINE pushes herself back, her back hitting something solid and she uses that abrupt halt to breath.  â â  who-- whoâre you? â
âMaybe you should stay here. You sound pretty sick."
âNo. I do not-â
Yes, he does. Bouts of sudden cold weather do not end well for him, especially when thereâs not enough water to go by as well - leaving him shivering, drained and thoroughly miserable.
In times like these, pride takes second place to warmth. And Toriel has always been warm. â...maybe a little,â he relents, crossing his leaves. Flowers donât catch common colds, but it does not mean they have to like freezing. âJust a little tiny bit that does not mean anything at all.â
Please just scoot him up and place by a heating pad or something.

Treat him horribly was more like it if he were honest. When he was living there, it wasnât anything good. Sure, they kept the kids fed and alive and TRIED to get Drake to be a normal individual with them. But Drake grieved heavily when they died. Only 4 months after it happened, he still grieved. He stared into the fire, watching it dance about slightly. It wasnât exactly a massive fire, but his eyes played with it as if controlling it slightly. Swishing his eyes side to side. Trying to find a reasonable response without worrying her too much. But, it seemed that caution was thrown to the wind when he spoke up to her. âMmm-mmm. They didnât loike me. They thought I wasnâ... normal.â He wasnât exactly how to tell her this. How to tell her he was âgiftedâ. Sheâd be afraid of what he were capable of in this cozy little home she gave to him. To let him stay. He closes his eyes. A reminder of the past lingering in his 9 year old body. The aches in his left arm still was there. A minor annoyance, but nothing too painful.

as a merchant, it was only natural   ZACHARIE WOULD POSSESS AN EYE FOR QUALITY.   after all, how else could he possibly hope to put a price on the unwanted items the puppeteer saw fit to barter with him? on his own fine selection of wares?   ( ignoring that such numbers had been seemingly pre-determined from the start. ) that, coupled with his unsettling awareness of all things video game, gave the masked man the impression he was   SOMETHING OF AN AUTHORITY   on proper level design. on puzzle making. or at the very least, exploring the subject was a bit of a hobby.
it was   A VERY ROUNDABOUT WAY OF EXPLAINING   why he was presently crouched before a row of deadly spikes, prodding at them without a care.   ( would he bleed if he pricked his finger? zacharie honestly wasnât sure. )
â ahahah, i take it youâre the boss of this level? â the merchant peered over one shoulder, the eternally-grinning visage of his mask   EERIE AND AFFABLE IN EQUAL MEASURES.   â interesting! interesting! then i should commend you on such fine craftsmanship; these puzzles are   QUITE THE SPECTACLE. â
