I hear it weekly, ‘I am after a blonde tone so it must be Blackbutt’, ‘I have always used Spotted Gum flooring.’
We have so many beautiful and unique Australian Hardwood species at our fingertips, yet we continually fall into the same rut with design and selection.
With tightened budgets, it may be the time to look at using alternate species that will still hit the design brief and keep a few bucks in the bank account.
When it comes to the next Blackbutt floor you are looking to specify, quote to a customer or recommend, why not consider Stringybark, New England Blackbutt, White Mahogany or Messmate?
Many of these species will surprise you with their ‘blonde’ tones and intrinsic grain pattern to that of Blackbutt; you may even save a few $$ along the way.
