“hey! yuki shimizu, right? we used to know each other back when we were little kids. yeah, neighbours or...” she pauses, tilting her head back as her eyes search the sky for an answer. “something... it’s me, yuzuki seo! anyway, i saw you around town the other day with a couple big ass basketball dudes. you in on that scene, or is that big one your boyfriend? my school’s basketball team had their asses handed to them by those guys last week!” she looks strangely... proud? of that? or thrilled? 

“ it gets tiring. ” he says finally. yuki is fine / yuki is safe. he’s got his legs up , and chin resting on his knees. he’s not alone in this moment , and whereas , he’d prefer to be / yuki is stubborn and hard-headed and if he didn’t say anything / he knows that she’d probably call in kagami. “ on not knowing what to do. or how i should be. having to be perfect when i’m not. of feeling my father’s disappointment every time he looks at me all because i got into another fight. ” there’s a twitch of his lips , “ like he didn’t teach me how to fight. like it’s not his fault that i know how to fight. ”  he takes a breath , shaky, it’s almost too much - saying those words he hasn’t said before. it is too much. he shuts it off. pushes himself up,  “ c’mon yuki. i’m feeling like some strawberries would be a nice light lunch snack. ”

“ ‘m fine, yuki. ” he is not, how many days of sleep has he missed now ? he can’t remember. things are blurry but he’s got things to finish first. sleep can always later when he catches up on everything. plans made, lectures decided, games watched and analyzed. a palm comes up to press into his left eye , rubbing harshly. it doesn’t help - just makes his vision even more spotty than before. “ i just need more coffee -- do y’think that place is open down the street ? ”

“hi, i’m kise ryota,” he glances over at a loud redhead as he threatens aomine over something. “i’ve seen you at a few of kurokocchi and kagamicchi’s games, are you...” his brows furrow slightly, looking at her. she’s got white hair, sure, but doesn’t she... maybe look... a little like kuroko? his own amber eyes widen. “are you perhaps a sibling of kurokocchi’s?” maybe that was bold... oh well!

when pumpkin pounces , nijimura reaches out to capture the animal before bringing him to lay on his chest to pet. see , kagami , cats are good creatures. nijimura thinks he deserves one in the apartment for having to put up with you. “ what do you mean we will come for you ? ” there’s a pause as gears turn in his head and he lets out a gasp “ --- yuki you have a crush ? ” okay so maybe he’s a little bit in disbelief , but to be fair , she hadn’t told him ! why wouldn’t she tell him ??  ah --- right kagami. nose scrunches as he continues to pet the cat that’s laid on his chest and is now content and purring. “ i dunno. to complain about me i guess. i even let him call murasakibara to tell him i didn’t have a crush on tatsuya because i thought it was fair and right. ”  it seemed fair and right to him at the very least. “ but -- i didn’t punch him. i could have punched him -- i did break a plate though. ” and here he holds up one hand with band-aids wrapped around fingers, “cut myself by accident too. there was a whole mess. ”

Yuu’s hands dive into the pile, fishing out a couple of plastic bats that bounce upon their nylon strings, a big grin plastered across his face. “Do you think we could put these up in the door? Set them up so that when people open it they fly into their face? We have to prank Kagami like that once, come on, Yuki, please-”
