I was standing at the toilet after finishing my business when vertigo hit and my socks slipped on the linoleum. I couldn't grab the safety bar straight ahead of me and fell to the left into the porcelain tub (a behemoth from the 60s) and the space, maybe a foot, between the toilet. Small bathroom. I hit my ribs and head on the tub and folded into the rest of the space, pivoting the toilet about 6 inches to the right on the wax seal. . What I know. My head cold went south into my chest Tuesday. I can hear rales and sometimes a whistling sound (like when you let the air out of a balloon)in between breaths. My coughs are deep and wet. NO FEVER. This is still in the viral stage it's been only a week. Antibiotics won't help a thing. I'm betting on my good friend bronchitis is back. . I have 1 or 2 bruised or fractured ribs right under my breast on the left. Hurt like Hell all time, especially moving and when I cough. They hurt just sitting here writing this. Katie said I hit my head on the left front at the hairline. Its consistent with the tender area and pain that is not usual migraine pain. . Right now I'm doing ice therapy on my ribs and my head. I have a journal I'm keeping every med or treatment and the time in it. I left msgs on my neuro and primary's phone, just to let them what happened. I probably shouldn't be taking this many Fioricet l2 capsules, 3x day) for very long, but the coughing makes my head hurt worse. It's a horrible cycle. . I will say this, using my inhaler (every 4 hrs or so), I went from the first time of only being able to hold my breath in for 5 sec, to today 13 sec. Small steps when you are really banged up. . Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... I am not going to the hospital to check these ribs. Treatment is the same. I have to let the virus run its course. I have an inhaler, a step above most.
