She was supposed to be a statistic. But through every step of her journey it became clear that Minnie had a purpose on this earth greater then being a cautionary tale. Seemingly alone, with even her faith being used against her, are she was able to find an extraordinary strep throat within to overcome domestic violence, sexual assault, and all of the unfortunate repercussions that come with being a victim. Man how I wish I had fallen on pillows instead! Did this day before yesterday. On crutches temporarily as it is quite a large bleed in my thigh muscle. Hoping to get off of them soon as this is my "good" leg (non-fused side). Wish I could say I was graceful when I fell. Wish I could say I fell into a pile of pillows and not a pile of bike parts and tools. Wish I could say that I didn't get dizzy and my feet didn't do the funky chicken propelling me forward. Perhaps some ninja training is in order so I can tuck and roll next time? Good things to note (because there always is!) nothing broken and a super nice lady at the hospital (Bobbi) who took over pushing the wheelchair as my son couldn't stay and put me in line in front of her as she saw how much pain I was in.
