NEW THIS AFTERNOON: Brownout blight plagues Dumaguete's Feeder 5 over NORECO II

DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- A triple local brownout in Dumaguete City tripped off Saturday afternoon (December 12th, 2025 at 4:15pm -- Dumaguete local time) when regional utility company 'Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative II' (NORECO 2) actively enforcing the emergency parallel maintenance, after the regular brownouts between 3am to 4am for several minutes.
The Bagacay substation of Feeder 5 serves these localities along Cornelia Road highway in Barangay Pulantubig. Others have softened out its electrical source of power in other feeder areas the same afternoon.
The question remains of what was the exact cause of this weekend its problems. People in that said barangay are seriously complaining more in the early morning and afternoon hours as they struggle to cope with the brownouts in the City of Gentle People.
NORECO II has apologized for the inconvenience of what had been a long and unexpected power outage, and they have assured their residents in south Negros Island Region (NIR) that their technical electrician crews are urgently assigned upon prioritizing to resolve these ongoing power issues. Restoration of power is now undertaken some 3am and 4am onwards, and more than 3 hours after 7pm within the same night.
