Exploring Faërie: Brownies

Brownies (or Broonies) are a type of Domestic Faery that live within human homes. They are said to be small enough in size to go about unseen. And they are believed to be primarily of a helpful nature. These Faeries are even known to sometimes assist their human neighbours with household chores.
Brownies think very highly of good manners and are rather polite. However, their being so sensitive can cause trouble. An offended Brownie may turn to mischief, playing tricks and causing mild trouble for their human housemates. And, in some cases, they will leave the home entirely and seek out a fresh start somewhere new. When it comes to Brownies, it's always best to mind one's manners. Taking good care of the home, tending to chores, and using an indoor voice are all appreciated by Brownies. As are cups of milk or cream with honey, oatcakes or oatmeal, dried fruits or seeds, or a bit of cheese left out by the hearth or kitchen stove. Just be certain to clear any such gift away again before it can become a mess.
