@alafemmegaze and I have been almost continually displaced over the last 3 years. It’s not something I’ve shared a ton about - we never wanted the painful chaos to supersede our profound joy and love for each other and our community. In the last few weeks we’ve been tentatively hopeful that we have an actual home (combatting founded and unfounded fears- will our landlord light the place on fire? Will it flood? Will we be robbed? Will they sell the building and raise the rent 200%?). One thing has been repeatedly made clear to us: the universe wants us in New York.
