bronya was raised to be extremely formal and ladylike so it stands to reason that the ways she addresses you as her lover also fit into those categories

when you’re in public she calls you ‘my dear’ or ‘my love’

when you’re with her mother or in front of the other silvermane guards you’re ‘darling’ or just your first name

when you’re in private she uses shorter terms of endearment like ‘love’ or ‘dear’

and when she’s trying to get you to stop trying to fluster her around others she’ll call you a very stern ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’… or just your first name if she’s particularly caught off guard

himeko prefers to use pet names for you that are straightforward without making her sound too old, too young, or too out of touch — that is when she isn’t just calling you by your name, which tends to be her default most of the time

in public and during serious meetings with the astral express crew you’re just your name

when she’s trying to sweeten you up because she wants something (e.g. for you to fetch her some papers from the archives, or for you to make her a fresh batch of coffee) then you’re ‘angel’ and ‘dear’

when you’re out running errands or on dates you’re ‘honey’ or ‘babe’ if she’s feeling particularly playful

and when she’s actively trying to tease you, she’ll refer to you as something intentionally dramatic like ‘love of my life’ or ‘my heart’ or something else along those lines

pet names are something that kafka prefers to keep private between the two of you, much preferring to call you by your name (or a more playful version of it such as how she calls blade ‘bladie’) or just to refer to you as her ‘partner/girlfriend/boyfriend’ to the people she trusts enough to know that information about you both

but that fact only makes the times she chooses to use such terms of endearment all the more impactful

like when she calls you ‘babe’ before kissing you on the lips and heading out on a mission

or when she wakes you up with your drink of choice and a softly spoken ‘dearest’ on one of her days off

or when you start fretting about her safety and she calls you ‘sweetheart’ while promising you that she’s fine and that she’ll keep coming back to you until THEY decide that her time is up

around strangers you’re her ‘baby’

around friends you’re ’honey bunny’ and ‘baby cakes’

in private you’re a whole slew of endearing terms that range from silly/stupid to genuinely quite sweet

and when you save her from an embarrassing or deadly situation you’re her ‘hero’ and rewarded with a bunch of kisses and cuddles (usually in front of a very displeased dan heng)

it’s rare that natasha calls you by your actual name, but the terms of endearment she uses with you are all very light and old fashioned — as to keep up an air of professionalism with her patients and her fellow members of wildfire (can’t have anyone see just how sappy she can be, after all)

around her patients she calls you ‘sweetheart’ and ‘darling’ as she has you running errands around the clinic

around oleg and her fellow wildfire members you’re ‘my love’

in private you’re ‘dear’ in the early mornings, and her ‘love’ before you both fall asleep

and when you stumble into her clinic, more blood than bare flesh after a run in with vagrants, you’re just your first name — spoken in a tone somewhere between frantic fear and scolding in a way that only your nat could manage to pull off

she’s not really a big ‘pet name’ person and nine times out of ten she’d much rather the two of you just call each other by your actual names, but once in a blue moon you might be able to get her to call you something a bit more couple-y

though this will only ever happen if the two of you are well out of earshot of anyone else

(in which case she’s more inclined to call you something simple like ‘babe’ or ‘my love’ if she’s in a more affectionate mood)

or if you’ve gotten injured somehow and she’s convinced she’s about to lose you

(in which case she’ll be calling out your name interspersed with the occasional ‘sweetheart’ or ‘darling’, all spoken frantically and brokenly as she tries to keep you awake and safe — please never make her go through this)
