21. What family patterns have you broken in your life?
Oh boy. I've broken a lot. However I'm still challenged in many ways. I broke the pattern of abuse. I didn't pass that on my children. But I am what some would consider abusive to myself. I think, no, I know I'm very different than my parents. But I'm watching myself closer. There's a lot of racism and sexism in my family, I'm breaking that and have been for years. I had a therapist tell me how shocking it was that I've broken such huge stereotypes. But see I figure if you've been hurt it should make you kinder, gentler, more compassionate. And I'm going to work on that for the rest of my life. Because that's who I want to be.
There's probably others I've not thought of but that's what's on my mind at the moment.
