#7: public disturbance
The mandragora screamed.
Entry #7: Broken Leaf
FFXIVWrite2017 Entry #7: Broken Leaf
Evening began to set upon the Holy See as the bright haze of sunlight tucked behind the mountains and snow drifted lazily to the stone paths of the Pillars, coating the manors in a fine layer of white. Within one of these manors was a tall, white haired elezen in a flawless black suit, standing resolutely at the center of activity as servants clamored about him. His chin was raised and his jaw was set. With a hand tucked behind him at the small of his back he appeared for all the world like a stalwart captain at the helm. And, in a way, he was.
Entry #7: Sleep
FFxiv 30 Day Writing Challenge Prompt #7: Broken Leaf Potential triggers: blood, themes of death The sun had set upon the Twelveswood, and the chill of the autumn night had begun to set in. Twigs snapped beneath her heavy footsteps, leaves crunching under her boots. A pitter-patter of blood left a spotty crimson trail behind her, one small hand clutched over the wound. It had been suns since sheâd been injured, but the wound never seemed to stay closed, the bandages sheâd wrapped around it doing little good in that regard. She was hurt. She was hungry. She was tired. And now she was cold. Unmeiâs vision began to spin, eyes squinting to try to see through the blurry darkness with those slitted pupils meant for daylight, but it was a mess of trees and leaves that wouldnât stay still. She stumbled, clumsily catching herself upon the trunk of the nearest tree. She slowly slid her way down to the ground, doing her best to ignore how the bark scraped against her skin. She should start a fire to stay warm, she thought... but she was just too tired. Maybe... maybe a little rest first. Just a little sleep. She rested her head back against the tree she had slumped against, her mess of auburn hair tangling over the rough bark. Eyelids slipped over her eyes, and she waited for slumber to claim her. #7: Broken Leaf
Foot pressed against the broken stone and Aran sat, watching the monks as they began the sunrise warm ups. It was a dry warm hot air in the mountains of Gyr Abania and from the sheer cliff Aran could look down and see the wandering critters and beasties.
She took out a dagger, watching the dust and stones that leapt in the air at the power of the warm ups, the ground trembling beneath the pounding fists and feet and the crackle of energy.
SLAM.
From remove, distance, the Highlander picked out a stone pillar and then the closest tree. She couldnât afford to slice unmoving, ungiving rock, but the bark of the tall behemoth of a tree that was close to the templeâs ruins would serve.
SLAM.
The methodical patterns of fists and feet was a heart-beat from earth to air, a tease that drew her in. She was no monk, no ancient or learning Fist, but the patterns of their attacks fell in line with patterns that she knew, that she could give. Â
SLAM. SLICE. STAB.
The impacts of feet and fists, the flicks of bark chipped off as Aran fell into a similar pattern as they did, leaving knicks and wounds as she danced with the tree like it was a pall or partner, moving and weaving and ducking around it. The ground shook and trembled and the trees quaked as the pace picked up, heavier and heavier impacts. Aranâs actions were less driving of weight and majesty but the tree she focused her attacks on had sap seeping out from the tiny little cuts.
And all around them, practicing under the freed Ala Mhigan sun, leaves fell, some ripped and torn and shattered and broken as aether and might drove them back to the sky

March 18, 2021 - Broken Leaf by Tangiers
Broken but only a little bit and the light ( artificial light) is shining. What can I do? Should I cut the leaf? @sweet-harmony
How To Use Leaf GradeÂ
There are many different leaf grades that you need to pay attention to when buying loose leaf tea. To keep it simple we will just explain the four main leaf grades, Whole leaf, Broken leaf, CTC leaf, and fannings grade.Â
Whole leaf is the largest leaf that you can get with tea, hence the name whole leaf. When looking at this tea you can practically see the whole leaves⌠its pretty self explanatory. This is also the most common leaf grade in loose leaf teas. Â
Broken leaf:Â this leaf is almost a whole leaf but not quite, when comparing the two, broken leaf looks as if it didn't quite make the cut for whole leaf. Some examples of broken leaf are Bancha and Formosa Oolong.Â
CTC stands for cut, tear and curl. This grade is really small and has a uniform look. These leaves are mostly used in countries that brew there tea in half water and half milk because this grade can withstand it. Some examples of CTC leaf are Mountain Kenya and Indian Chai.Â
Fannings Grade. This grade is basically dust. Its what is used in tea bags because they steep really quick and don't expand in size. However, this grade can only be steeped once while the other grades can be steeped at least twice.Â
When buying loose leaf tea do not discourage any of the tea based on its grade, expect for fannings⌠everything is better than fannings. For more tea information and tea pairings check out The Tea Sisters.Â
