I have already been back in a Broadway theatre post-pandemic (I saw Pass Over 2 weeks ago) so this video of an almost 3 minute long standing ovation for the opening number and Glinda's first entrance from last night's reopening of Wicked shouldn't have logically made me so emotional but I still teared up watching it.
I'm going to the reopening night for Phantom of the Opera in a month and if the in person audience seeing it with me has even a fraction of the electricity and excitement that this crowd did, I think I will dissolve into a sobbing mess.
