Renewal through Fire and Rain
[an approximate transcript of the broadcast of 4/18/2018]
Welcome friends, listeners, and gentlefolk of all genders, to Fried Ghosts, with me, Zeitghostbuster.
Hello everyone, I’m very excited to get our broadcast started in full force, with our theme this week, appropriate to the advent of mud season, being Renewal through Fire and Rain--here’s to hoping you weather safely all the storms of a fresh start, and find relief you can in their completion.
Now, with the storms dredging up so many things from the mud--things we should have dealt with long ago, things that might have been swept under the public consciousness but remain utterly present, and I thought I might address a few of them here:
Flint, Michigan still does not have clean water--not all of the damaged pipes have been replaced--it would be great if you could call your representatives about this
Puerto Rico still needs restoration, and again it’s definitely something we should call representatives about--please also check out hispanicfederation.org/unidos/ and their comprehensive plan for the restoration of Puerto Rico
Definitely call, or otherwise contact your reps about these and, if you have the means, look on Charity Watch (an organizations that investigates and rates charities) for local relief organizations to donate to.
Some cool stuff you might have forgotten about, however, are also resurfacing:
Morcheeba is coming out with their first new album in five years, Blaze Away, on June firsts.
Janelle Monae referenced transformers in Django Jane which gives wait to the theory that she referenced Transformers in Faster--on her album Basically, my theory is that Janelle Monae likes Transformers--her ongoing musical she’s been working on throughout hr albums shares many themes with the Transformers world, and, as a side note, Monae being involved with part of the TF franchise would be the best thing ever.
Next week our broadcast will follow the House Jams of the Underground, as those wandering underground have weathered the storms, but are having a good time in the underworld--and maybe whispering of good time to rise up.
I thought it might be fun for us to also paint a picture, next week, of this concerts twin in the waiting room of purgatory. If there are any suggestions to the soundtrack and floor designs to limbo--anywhere on the scale from holding ground to hotel to reception area, I’d love for y’all to send me those, or any other comments, in through my tumblr, friedghostsofficial, or email, [email protected].

I hope you’ll all tune in again next week, so week can again
Good luck out there, friends.
I’ll leave you with that moment of silence like after the rain has beat you to everything you ever wanted to say, even those things you had long since forgotten.
This is zeitghostbuster, signing off.
