Sooo, they day has come! On the 15th I went into Dr. Bill's office and had my Invisalign Impressions taken. This is when they take two sets of impressions so that they can fit the Invisalig exactly to your teeth and make a digital version of your teeth so that Invisalign and your dentist can consult about what dimensions and degrees your teeth and aligners need to be set to so that they can create each aligner. (If you're still following me after all that, raise your hand, lol) 

Now is the hard part. (Well for me at least..) WAITING. That, I have never been good at. At all. My next appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13th. On that day, I'll go in and receive my first set of aligners! Woooo! I seriously can't wait! Although, I know I will regret saying this because once I get it all I'm gonna want to do is see the results and have it all be over!

One thing I'm not looking forward to is the lisp I'm gonna have. But, it is going to help me a lot with some other things.. Such as my bad habit of biting my lip. Since I have to wear the aligners all day (at least 22 hours) unless I'm eating, I've come to the realization that wont be able to bit my lip with them on! I also won't be able to snack on demand which is UH MAY ZING! On top of all that another thing is, you have to try really really hard to only drink clear liquids because your trays can become stained. They recommend water (which I don't drink) because your trays can also trap sugar from other drinks in your trays and cause cavities, so you also have to make sure your brushing not only your teeth more often, but your trays as well. So my conclusion of all that is: I'll be healthier because I can't snack and I'm only able to drink water majority of the time AND I can't bite my lip so after a year and some change hopefully it will break the bad habit! On top of all this I get whitening! 

To sum it all up.... I'M EXCITED AS HELL. (If you can't tell)

It has been a long journey to find an Orthodontist that I am 100% happy with. I can now finally say that I have found a perfect match! He is very knowledgeable and knows what he’s doing and I feel totally comfortable with it all! Not to mention, his whole office staff is really nice and really down to earth!

When I first went to Dr. Bill I was preparing for answers that I wasn't going to like. Reason is because I have had quite a few consultations for Invisalign and I have been told good and bad things. The bad primarily came from the general dentists that gave me the consultation. I’m assuming that’s because they don’t have as much experience as Orthodontists do with Invisalign. They often would tell me my over bite could not be fixed, as well as my deep bite. One of the dentists told me it would take 8 months and others told me 2 years! They tried to push me towards traditional braces, which is a NO GO for me. It’s odd because Invisalign is more money.. you would think they would take the extra dollar? Even the one Orthodontist I saw didn't recommend Invisalign for my case. The only reason I stuck with how I felt was because I HAVE been told I am eligible for Invisalign and that it CAN fix my over bite and deep bite. When I saw Dr. Bill it was such a relief. He told me I am the perfect candidate for Invialign! He is an Invisalign Preferred Orthodontist. I did research before choosing him for that reason! He told me if I wanted to do traditional or incognito braces (braces behind the teeth, which he has himself), I could, but he recommended Invisalign! Wooo! So happy! My case will be 16 months but that can often be less or more. I am happy with that. One of my friends had a case that was supposed to be 18 months, but it only wound up being a year! So that gives even more hope!

All that being said, I had my consultation on Wednesday, January 30th and made my next appointment for impressions for the following Wednesday February 6th. I had to reschedule that appointment for this coming Friday February 15th because I didn't have the deposit ready (which is $1200, mind you ). But The deposit isn't really that bad. The total cost is $5,200, $1,800 of which my insurance covers. So, after my deposit it leaves me with only 16 payments of around $130, no interest!! I couldn't be happier!

After taking my impressions on Friday, Ill have to wait 4 weeks to get my impressions back. Blah! Good thing about it, is that no matter how many adjustments we have to make or how many impressions I have to take the price never changes and whitening is included!! The usual line up is taking impressions and then 1/3 of the way through you take another set of impressions and then again 2/3 of the way through. My Orthodontist told me I may not have to take the impressions more than once, which would be friggin awesome.

Since it's taken me a few days to actually write this the appointment is now tomorrow! Soo, up bright and early for my appointment at 7:30 am and I'll fill you guys in later!
