In an effort to get fully comfortable with two-color brioche knitting I cast on Stephen West’s Briochevron Wrap. With the brioche increases and decreases, there are essentially three rest rows for each high maintenance one. I’m looking forward to combining various colors while using up leftovers. Lately I’ve been obsessed with using up bits of my stash.

Finally making some actual progress on this thing recently. I haven’t been knitting a lot lately, I have been super busy and starting my son in daycare two days a week has really messed him up. And of course that means everything has been crazy for us. But, I started on this again last night and I have added a few rows! Now, lets see how fast I can make it!
On the left, we have the first iteration of this blanket. It was never completed. I think I got about 5 inches further than you see in that picture before I noticed it. The big mistake. I missed several increases on the edge. Which, isn’t so bad. But this is brioche stitch. And I have only recently ventured into brioche stitch territory. I had already started weaving ends in and had wo en them in way past the point where the mistake was made. There was no way I was going to manage to pick up all the stitches and not screw it up. So I pulled it out. All of it.
The picture on the right is how far I’ve gotten into the shiny new iteration. And I’m happy to be working on it again. I want to make this blanket and use up all this yarn that has no other use.

I'm putting my blanket on time out until I figure out how I want to approach fixing it. But now I don't know what to do with myself.

Ugh, while fixing my mistake I found another mistake. Much further back. And a bigger more obvious mistake. And now I don't want to touch the thing. I guess this project will just have to sit for an undecided amount of time.
Undoing 4 rows of brioche stitch with increases and decreases to get back to where I increased instead of decreased is SO much fun. It takes me longer to unknit these rows than it does to knit them! I didn't quite make it back to the mistake, but I am done for the night.
Ugh, I have to pull out two long rows of brioche to fix this dumb mistake all the way back at the beggining of the row. Ugh.
