"I wasn't important enough to hang out with the Archangels," he said.

"Neither was I, but after the whole, you know, Earth thing got started, I bumped into him a few times. You see, he's always liked humans. He thinks they're clever. I always thought you'd get on rather well with him, actually, apart from, well--"

"Him being an Archangel and me being a fiend from the pit of Hell?"

"Yes, that."

These are the ones that went straight to my heart, forever burying within it and changing me in some aspects.

A Memory of Eden (M) by @improbabledreams900

Written before the TV show came out, this fic is a continuation of the book events, in which Crowley tells heaven he bewitching Aziraphale in order to protect him. The angel goes on to save him for which he falls... into human. Majority of the story is about how they both deal with implications of their choices. Very well constructed, attention to detail and immensely original plot! (Trigger warning for Alzheimer's disease and slow death). Eventual happy ending...in a weird way.

Don't read this one if angst is not your thing. It starts with Aziraphale coming into Anthony's flowershop and the latter not remembering him. From there on you're thrown into a memory lane where Aziraphale recounts their meetings throughout the ages and how each of them ended. Very original backgrounds, including peasant Crowley with a garden, inventor Crowley in 16th century Denmark and . But the real question is what has made Crowley reincarnate over and over in a human form? Eventual happy ending.

So Excuse Me Forgetting (G) by @ineffably-effable

Lovely one shot for those who can hold their angst. Another memory loss fic in which Crowley arrives at the bookshop to see Aziraphale already in the process of forgetting him. Emotionally charged and very well written. Open/sad ending.

Crowley staggered to his feet - slithered, if he were honest, in a way that wasn't strictly compatible with normal human leg joints - and lunged toward the stranger, who was trying to wipe his face and mostly succeeding in smearing cream over his sleeves.

"You even think about hurting him, you basssstard," he hissed, "I'll make you wish you'd Fallen--"

"Crowley!" Aziraphale grabbed his arm with a strength Crowley had never known he possessed. The effect was rather like running into an iron bar. Crowley hung there for a moment, bewildered and winded, before Aziraphale dragged him back. "Calm down, for heaven's sake!"

And then the angel on the sofa began to laugh through his mask of pistachio cream and powdered sugar.

"This is your demon, then?" he said. "He certainly knows how to make an entrance."

"Aziraphale--"

"I'm not an idiot, Crowley," Aziraphale insisted, despite what was, in Crowley's opinion, mounting evidence to the contrary. "I'm not going to let my guard down. But think what it would mean to have an ally in Heaven--"

"What did he want?" Crowley yanked off his sunglasses and rubbed a hand over his eyes. "Why did he come here?"

"He needs our help."

Crowley peered through his fingers quizzically.

"Our help? Raphael does? The Archangel Raphael?"

"Yes." There was the tiniest hint of self-satisfaction in Aziraphale's voice.
