#brightmares

I made a fantasy creature!! These guys are called Brightmares, they live deep within a giant underground cave system filled with magic called the Chasm, the frill mandibles on their neck can flare out in a threat display as well as act like a lil pouch for transporting younglings :}c

Deep within the mazelike cavern you've explored during your voyage, you encounter a tall pillar of crumbling stone surrounded by softly pulsing crystals of blue and purple. Atop the rocky spire sits a gigantic reptilian, coated with faded navy scales and accented with faintly glowing lavender, finned limbs clutching the stone below and serpentine tail wrapped around the towering stalagmite.

The creature stirs, and opens an eye, then another. It turns its head, fixing a piercing stare onto the intruder, and peels its lips back into a snarl. The fins wrapped around its neck unfurl, revealing fleshy pink insides marked with bioluminescent veins, and it hisses out a low warning that speaks of impending danger to any who approach further.
