Saya Woolfalk’s “Urban Garden Rail” (2017) at the Pennsylvania Avenue (3) station in Brooklyn, reflects the people of the East New York community who came together to transform vacant lots into cherished local gardens, resulting in bountiful harvests for area residents and those who shop local farmers’ markets. Woolfalk’s work can also be viewed, along with seven other artists (including Tricia Wright, whose artwork will soon be installed at a Metro North Railroad Station), in Brooklyn at BRIC’s “Present Bodies: Papermaking at Dieu Donné”, opening tonight 7-9pm.
