Brexit postponed to 31st January 2020 – EU

The EU has agreed to Britain’s request to extend its exit from the union until 31st January 2020.

The President of the EU Commission Donald Tusk broke the news Monday morning.

Brexit had initially been scheduled for 31 October, 2019. However, the House of Commons voted last week to ask for a delay.

Labour-Tory Brexit Talks End Without Deal – Gold Silver Reports

Talks between Labour and the government aimed at breaking the Brexit impasse have ended without an agreement. Jeremy Corbyn blamed what he called the government’s “increasing weakness and instability”, saying the discussions had “gone as far as they can”.

UK Pulls Brexit Ferry Contract From Firm With No Ships

Weeks of public sniggering and indignation culminated Saturday when the British government cancelled a ferry contract it had awarded to a firm with no ships. The island nation’s breakup with the European Union took an odd turn in December when it handed the unheralded Seaborne Freight company the £13.8-million ($17.9 million, 15.6-million-euro) deal.
