I saw Brett Mogen’s Moonage Daydream in IMAX at the TCL Chinese Theatre. I’ve been waiting er two weeks for this moment. I was inspired by Brett Morgan’s crazy dance on the red carpet at Cannes. The first 20 minutes was like becoming an instant Kwisatz Haderach! David spoke throughout the whole documentary that was surrealistic montage that stimulated ideas and feeling in ways verbiage can’t communicate. Bowie died at 69 but he live a 1,000 lifetimes in those years. For creatives this documentary will be an endless source of inspiration. It was an amazingly fun ride. Cobain’s Homemade Cover of “And I Love Her” to be Issued on Vinyl
Kurt Cobain’s unvarnished, homemade cover of the Beatles’ smooth, in-studio ballad “And I Love Her” is set for release as a seven-inch vinyl single.
The lo-fi recording, discovered as Cobain documentarian Brett Morgen sought material for the recently released “Montage of Heck,” is gritty, awash in background noise, out of key and, frankly, not very good.
But then, it’s a home recording never intended for release and is to Nirvana fans as “The Lost Lennon Tapes” are to Beatles fans.
And that makes it incredibly special.
“Nobody in Kurt’s life - not his management, wife (Courtney Love), bandmates - had ever heard his Beatles thing,” Morgen tells Rolling Stone magazine. “I found it on a random tape.“
The single, b/w the Cobain-composed “Sappy,” is set for release Nov. 20, according to Vinylcollective.com
