WHAT IS YOUR CO2 THRESHOLD? ▫️ Your CO2 threshold reflects your tolerance to CO2 = LIFE ▫️ The way we breath 💨 determines the amount of CO2 in the blood and the release of O2 from the blood to the tissues and organs. ▫️ Improper breathing 👄 results in too much CO2 being exhaled, therefore reducing the concentration of CO2 in the blood and limiting the transfer of O2 from the blood to the tissues, cells, lungs and ❤️heart. ▫️ 🔑How you breathe and the exchange between CO2 and O2 determines the state of your body/physiology/nervous system. ▫️ How to test your CO2 threshold: 1️⃣You will need a stop watch. 2️⃣Take 3-5 deep breaths. Just normal breaths in and out of the nose, not too deep and not too shallow. 3️⃣Take 1 large inhale through the nose and as you begin to exhale, start your stopwatch. 4️⃣Exhale as slow as you can through your nose (the goal is to see how long you can exhale- ie. tolerate CO2). 5️⃣Avoid pausing or holding your breath until you have completed your exhale. Record your time in seconds ▫️ Results and Starting Tempos ❇️0-10s – Nose breathing – simply start creating an awareness of whether you are inhaling and exhaling through your mouth or your nose. ❇️10-20s - 2-3s ❇️20-30s – 3-4s ❇️30-40s – 4-5s ❇️45-60s – 6s+ Any tempo that your currently using would be applied to the above. Let’s say your doing a 7-7-7 tempo right now.
