You feel his gaze before your own eyes meet his. You look back down and continue writing on your notepad.
“Don’t you have tests to be running? Patients to be saving?”
He gives a small hum in response, as if he’s not truly listening to your words. “Mmm..hmm...yeah.”
You glance back up. “Robert, quit it.”
He seems to snap out of it when he hears your tone. “I’m sorry, what?”
You smile, despite yourself. “You were staring again.”
He seems less embarrassed than you would have liked. “I can’t help it. It’s you. You’re cute.”
You feel your cheeks heat up. “I’m in a doctor’s coat, I haven’t slept in two days, and I’m writing notes down, Robert,” you say flatly, refusing to meet his eyes.
“I know. So cute.”
You let out a groan of frustration, and you’re about to tell your boyfriend off when House’s voice cuts between you.
“Hey, Lover Boy! Make goo-goo eyes on your own time! I have a dying patient in need of you changing out his bedpan! Shoo!”
You don’t even need to look up to see the smirk on House’s face or the bright blush on Chase’s.
