Matt is absolutely cackling

oh god so i know this isn’t cass story time but like

my high school was SO STRICT on graduation dress code. shoes, outfits, everything. girls’ shoes had to be all white, no sandals, no wedges, no sneakers- and i mean all white, even stuff with like a little gold buckle or smthn wasn’t okay, they said you couldn’t walk if you didn’t follow the rules. so, desperate, my dumb ass got 5 inch heels bc that’s all i could find that met the requirements

graduation was in the hampton coliseum, an arena near where i’m from. the graduation was set up in the middle of the arena, but we had to wait around the edges, near locker rooms and places that would normally have concessions, and the floors were pure concrete. we stood for nearly THREE HOURS waiting for everyone to arrive and line up by name. i was dying. i limped up to get my diploma.

Matt could be grumpy as hell but Ryan pouts and flutters his eyelashes a little and Matt melts, fixing Ryan’s bike after the fifth (FIFTH, RYAN, WHAT THE SHIT) “accident” this month, or hacking into security cameras to wipe something because Ryan got bored and did a little solo heist

um yes??? like Matt will sing his own praises about his work and skills all day long, but beneath the bravado he’s insecure about a lot. Ryan’s genuine praise (and Matt knows it’s genuine, Ryan was so upset when Matt laughed and told him to quit fucking around the first time Ryan tried praising him) just puts him in the perfect headspace, helps him recognize his own value and that the people who love him hardly even see what he considers glaring imperfections.
