Hey, you rebooted a post about the Weeds calling their blog post beautiful and honest. Respectfully, there is a lot of nuance and history here you don’t get, as someone who is not LDS. The Weeds did a lot of damage to the LDS LGBT community, and a lot of s are in shock/deeply hurt/very upset right now because of the way this is playing out.
I’m sorry; I just thought that it was a nice message of learning to accept yourself and overcome years of internalized homophobia. I thought it was a wise decision; he is not obligated to stay with a woman he has no desire for, and she is not obligated to stay with a man who cannot be there for her in the way she needs a husband to be.
They seem to be on good terms yet, love each other as people if not as lovers, and be devoted to their children. I think divorcing in such a situation is a wise thing and will lead to both being happier in the long run.
It would be more harmful to their children in the long run, I think, seeing their parents bitter into resentment and unhappiness than to make a clean break now and remain on good terms.

3. What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)? Good question. In the Tolkien fandom it has to be Gil-galad/Elendil, because I have seen not a single piece of fic or art. Special mention goes to the Skyrim fandom and my extreme thirst for anything Legate Rikke/Sybille Stentor (I made several impassioned pleas to the Skyrim kinkmeme but no one responded) 9. What ship represents the kind of relationship you’d love to have? Most of my OTPs are of the “old married” variety, or I at least ship them in a way that is old and married as opposed to FRAUGHT WITH DRAMA. Basically characters that weather difficult times together and communicate and work out their differences and are adorable together for many years. Already answered 21! 29. What is the ship you ignore 98% of canon for? I don’t really do this? If I don’t like the canon for a ship, I don’t really ship them. Most of my ships are either a) explicitly textual or b) can be backed up with text even if it isn’t spelled out, but either way, the text is a solid foundation on which I build my fannish screaming. If I ignore canon, it’s the smaller and more ignorable details, like Gil-galad being Fingon’s son (even then I still work it into my headcanon, with Fingon fostering Gil-galad with the intention of naming him as his heir, since he has no children of his own)
