Sebastian stumbles, snorting at himself as he tries to catch his balance. What a rough, interesting night itâs been. The man was utterly pleased with himself. He remembers wild, careless dancing and loud music and purple-tipped, long nails scratching at his chest. His clothes are a mess; his hair isnât any better. Heâs drunk enough to snicker even though nothing happens to cause it, but not too mindless to find his way back.
His friends have found it too early, still. After midnight, but the morningâs a few hours away, still. The ravenetteâs wanted to leave, anyway. Theyâve smirked and asked him if heâd be so eager to return home to his pet that was waiting for him for sure.
Heâs waved them off, laughing. Even though he knows it to be true.
The other would wait for him, certainly. Sebastianâs said he would be back soon. Heâs said heâd only have one small drink and then come back. Of course it hasnât been true. Of course itâs taken much longer than that. But the young male hasnât expected anything else, probably.
As silently as possible, the ravenette enters the apartment.
The man isnât surprised to find that the living room isnât empty. One little lightâs still lit. Ciel lies on the couch, on his side, back pressed against the back rest almost as though like this, he can imagine itâs someone else lying behind him. Being there.
For a moment, the ravenette pauses. Does nothing but watch the other. Imagines him glancing at the clock. Always patient. Ready to bring a glass of water when Sebastianâs had too much to drink.
Sebastian revels in it. The attention, the interest, the care.
The adoration.
He reeks of alcohol and smoke and sex. He doesnât smell it, but would have to be an idiot not to know. The younger doesnât notice. He doesnât stir when the man crosses the room to grab a blanket, tugging him in slowly. His fingers curl against the blanket, twitch, but he doesnât wake. He will know, though, once the morningâs arrived, that Sebastianâs back.
Having drawn a blanket up to his chin. Having been quiet as to not wake him.
In moments like this he knows that Ciel wants something from him that he canât give him.
No, that isnât true.
He could. He isnât incapable. He knows he isnât.
He doesnât want to.
But that doesnât stop the fond little smile to spread across his lips as he casts the other one last look, before the ravenette heads to the bedroom, closing the door behind himself with a soft click.
âIâm sorry.â
The young male really worked too much. Ciel sat at his desk, hunched over a heavy looking book, pen in his hand.
âIâll just finish this and then Iâll be done,â he grimaced slightly, glancing at Sebastian who sat on the youngerâs bed, back leaning against the wall as he idly looked back.
Sebastian didnât believe that for a second. He had arrived half an hour ago, and Ciel had already said this twice. The ravenette wasnât upset, though. Contrary to what the other certainly assumed, it wasnât boring in the slightest to watch Ciel. He could do that for another hour and then be sent home, and the man would still be content to have spent time at the dorm with the other.
However, Sebastian didnât like to see him stressed. He knew this assignment was due next week; there were still quite a few days left. What a diligent student the younger was. But he found that he could drag him away from his book for just a little while. And the man already knew just what he could do to achieve that.
âDidnât you tell me something about a movie youâd like to see?â
Ciel paused for a moment, turning again with a questioning expression on his face. Then he gave a brief hum. âYeahâit came out three days ago. Why?â
âBecause I just decided that weâll be going this afternoon,â the ravenette stated, pleased with himself because while he wasnât very interested in the film itself, he rather liked his idea.
âButââ
âThat book will still be there after,â the man gestured towards the evil monster on Cielâs desk, arching a brow at the young male before he smiled. âPlease? You only have two classes tomorrow. And maybe I could help you with that assignment. I can at least try. Unless Iâm overstaying my welcome already?â
Ciel duck his head and shook it. It was certainly on the tip of his tongue, that Sebastian didnât have to help and that he could go home, and that he should really work on this assigment, but the ravenette tried his best puppy eyes and the young male swiftly glanced away â hopefully blushing.
âFine.â
"Do you need more blankets?"
Ciel was standing in the doorway and for a second, the ravenette was tempted to shake his head and ask the other if he would climb into bed with him instead. But he shouldnât. He might be cold - and just the smallest bit cuddly and whiny - but that didnât mean he should risk infecting the young male, as well. No, it would be best if Ciel stayed away.
He wouldnât forgive himself if the other ended up sick, too.
âIf it wouldnât be a bother to fetch another one or two,â the ravenette ended up replying, hoping that he had been loud enough despite his sore throat and stuffed nose. He could hardly recognize his own voice.
Being sick was awful.
Sebastian shivered slightly but tried to flash a tiny smile when the other male nodded, swiftly going to bring him more blankets.
It was nice to have the younger around. He was very used to tucking himself in and preparing his own tea even when ill; Ciel did his best to make things easier for him so he could get more rest and be more comfortable despite everything.
âThank you.â
