I finished up Braq a couple months ago. I did not 3D print him, printed by a friend, but then the project was so daunting for a while that I didn't finish it. I finally did though. As you can see, he's pretty big! Also, a bunny that I DID 3D print. :)
My 3-D printed dragon BJD kit came in today. So many parts. So much sanding. So much work. So excited.
He gonna live on top of my computer monitor. The person sent me two extra pairs of eyes for him, too, plus the ones I ordered, so now I gotta decide which eyes to give him.
DONE!!! 18 and a half hours to print, and about 5 hours to remove support structures etc and assemble. Wow, he was super tricky to put together but partly because I shrunk it down 50%.... I do love this size though. This is Braq, the free 3d printable model file off of thingiverse created by BQLabs. Make sure to check it out! I need to make eyes for this little guy and I may mod the wings eventually or make my own cause they don’t pose as well as the rest of him. The file is totally free to use etc so if people are interested I may add it to my shop. This size would probably be 80$ Also the next one I print will be white... with blue eyes, LOL. Cool down duct got hooked on the print overnight, heard a nasty crash as the duct got pulled out and snapped off my Z probe…. Amazingly the printer did not skip steps and kept on going. Guess I should have printed a spare z probe bracket. Least I know it will fail instead of breaking the probe! I will print out Mr Braq, one way or another. Also had the PTFE tube fail starting this project, after doing a bunch of high temp filaments… Ahwel.
