And now he has a star canon. Awesome.
Unfortunately this doesn't last long and leads into the part of the comic that hurt my soul.
They literally thought "what's the worst thing that could possibly happen to someone" and put Rocket through that. (Again. Let's not forget how awful his backstory is. I could also consider that to be the worst thing that could happen to someone.)
On the bright side, at least he was so tough and badass that the literal worst thing possible was the only thing strong enough to take him out...but damn that was brutal...and messed up as hell...
He was loyal to the people who hired him for as long as possible, but in the end he had to protect the ones he loved 😭 Gotta respect that.
And at least Starbrand was able to enact her vengeance by destroying the prism... though ideally I would have liked to see him destroyed.
