#brandy mellow

After Brandy realized that Cherry wasn’t going to pay attention to what she said for the most part, she decided that her daughter would simply have to learn from experience and switched gears to say their goodbyes since Brandy had to leave early to prepare for her own job as a teacher. Cherry was filled with excitement at the fact that there were only a few hours before she moved into her future school for the next few years. 

While Cherry was ready to go to the Institute, Cam was already missing home before he left. Though Brandy did try to cheer them up with the fact that he was literally going to be in the same neighborhood, Cam knew it wasn’t going to be the same. They were excited to be going to the school but it was still his first time properly away from home so nerves were an issue. Violet also tried to cheer her sibling up but she was kind of excited at the idea of Cam and Cherry being gone. With them gone she’d have less siblings around who put effort into things so she wouldn’t be as pressured to do more when she had no intention of doing so. 

So after much deliberation, it was decided that provided Cherry was able to maintain good grades and attendance, she and Campari would be allowed to apply for the school for their junior year. The year and a half before then was mostly going to be for Brandy, Catalina Blue and Absinthe to gather the money for it and test Cherry’s resolve. Either way it seemed pretty clear that Campari was truly interested in the school so if Cherry was to attend, it was up to her. 

While Cherry was happy to know that her Mama was willing to let her go, she was not looking forward to finishing her freshman and sophomore years actually in class. She’d barely have time to have fun and with college she wouldn’t be able to leave when she wanted but despite the dreadful idea of staying put for longer than anticipated, surely getting ahead with the school was worth it. It would make the last few years fun too so that was a bonus. 

The couple embraced one another until the joyous emotion of the day quieted a bit and they were able to fully wrap their minds around the fact that they were married. Catalina Blue had chosen to take Brandy’s name since her own name carried with it the ties to the island spirits and unlike her mother, that wasn’t her calling. 

Absinthe and Brandy started discussing plans for Cherry Liqueur’s birthday after the little one, again, escaped sleep to talk about it to her Mama and Mommy. 

After discussing the more important matters, Absinthe lightly told Brandy that she brought over a lot of pork. To which Brandy proudly announced that she had made it herself which was more than the very few things she could make. Absinthe didn’t have the heart to tell her that she still had leftovers from the last time she came over with the pork dish. 

On a more serious note, Absinthe and Brandy also talked about how things were going to work in terms of the kids. They determined that until Catalina Blue’s kids were children themselves, they would be a distraction to the children during the school week so until then, their children would go by Brandy’s house on the weekends so that they can be close with their new step-siblings. After that they decided that they would alternate households evenly so that each parent gets equal time with the kids.
