When someone asks me if im fine
my baseline emotion rn is stress but on top of that is a thin layer of apathy that is stopping me from getting shit done?? im probably just making excuses bc im lazy and shit at life but honestly i would love to actually do some work!! instead of thinking abt how i need to do it! and not doing it!

One of my favorite staff members said something to us the other night that made me think a lot: Being good is a choice. To a high degree, I agree with this. I recognize that I made that choice when I pursued membership in this organization, and it is why I work so hard to try and perfect everything that I can. It is why I try my hardest to go 100% every single rep, every single chunk, every single day. But there's a part of me that has a mental block that says "There is a limit to how good you can be. You can get kinda good, but you'll never be great." I don't know if it's because I came from a not great program or I couldn't dance until like 6 months ago or I still sometimes feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know. I need to get over it. Maybe I need to start thinking that not only is being good a choice, but being better than you think you can be is also a choice. That sounds so "duh" when I think about it, but sometimes I just need the reminder. Oy.
