Today is 1000 days after I had my stroke. I made this drawing from tracing the scans they did about a year after the stroke, as it shows the stroke area the best to my eye. The brain is a malleable thing, and in the past 1000 days mine developed new pathways to make up for what was lost. I'm not back to how I was or who I was before the stroke, and I may never be. That's okay. I'm around to keep learning, keep trying, and keep growing hopefully for many thousands of days more. Life is unpredictable and unexpected. The best we can do is be kind to others and ourselves.
