5 Family Halloween Activites
Can’t get enough of the spooky vibe that comes every October? We love Halloween at Battistoni & Beam Orthodontics and we hope our patients have as much fun as we do with the holiday. That being said, we’d like to show off some great activity ideas you can do with your family this Halloween!
Need some one of a kind, unique decorations? These cleverly-named Halloween “Terror-ariums” let your kids create their own spooky setting. Glow-in-the-dark halloween figurines and a black-light make this piece a ghostly effect. Display your own in a window or on a porch for trick-or-treaters.
If you get the craving for some savory, eerie treats we can help with that too! Bring the traditional colors of Halloween into your baking to satisfy your sweet tooth. These black and orange cream cheese swirl Halloween brownies will be a hit with the whole family. Just use a knife to create the swirl pattern at the top. Don’t forget the orange food coloring either!
Kids love to bring in their favorites treats for Halloween parties at school. If you plan on sending them with treat bags for their class try out this cool idea! Make Halloween Hand Treats using a surgical glove. Tie some ribbon on the end and you have the perfect treat bag. Enlist the kids to help you and make a craft night out of the activity. Be sure to use candy that is braces-friendly; use this card as a guide.
All you need for this next activity is a television and your favorite treat. Have a cozy night with the family and watch a Halloween movie. This list of Halloween movies for kids even gives recommended ages for each movie. Order a pizza or pop some popcorn and you have a fun family night!
It wouldn’t be Halloween without a jack-o-lantern. You and your family can pick your own, creative design for your pumpkin. There are also steps you can take to make your creepy creation last longer. Follow this guide for 5 Ways to Make Your Halloween Pumpkin Last Longer . Once you finish your masterpiece enter it into our Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza Contest on the Patient Rewards Hub. The winner will receive 250 points!
We hope all of our patients and their families have a safe and happy Halloween! These activities can help you get started. Feel free to wear your costume to your appointment the week of October 27th-30th. We look forward to seeing all your costumes!
What to Eat on Halloween with Braces
It’s officially October! Which means that Halloween is fast-approaching. The treats you can enjoy on Halloween are a little different when you have braces. There are certain sticky and hard candies to avoid so that you do not break any part of your braces. Don’t worry though, there are still plenty of sweets to enjoy! If you’re ever in doubt consult this handy card!
Remember- coming to your appointments with nothing broken gets you more points on the Patient Rewards Hub! We hope all our patients have a Happy Halloween! Enjoy all the trick-or-treating!

PLATYPUS FLOSSER REVIEW
So, everyone hates flossing. And with braces, normal floss is impossible. My orthodontist recommended superfloss, which is AWFUL because it shreds and jams itself in between your teeth. I received a review unit from Platypus and Wow! YOU CAN FLOSS ONE HANDED PEOPLE. It has a special "spatula" thingy that lets it fit under the wire. 10/10 Would reccomend
