Duke of Venice: Othello, I have a report here from Brabantio. Now he makes some accusations here that I frankly find hard to believe.

Yesterday at rehearsal someone had the glorious idea we should create mood boards for our roles

but like, with an actual stack of newspapers and flyers and paper and glue and whatnot, primary school level

Some highlights:  - I had no idea what to do for Iago so I put a greeting card on it that said “when I’m older I want to be O a princess O an astronaut O ______” And you could tick a box and I wrote “lieutenant” on the free space

- Brabantio had a picture of the pope in the middle of his moodboard with the words “Brabantio does the job, vote me” below

- Cassio put the quote “God I love alcoholics. I’d love to be one some day.” in the downmost corner explaining it to us with the words “He’s trying to conceal it but he’s so bad at it”

- he also drew an abacus

- there were some Hamilton quotes on Iago’s moodboard (and by some I mean a lot) including “desperate to rise above his station, everything he does betrays the ideals of our nation” and “why do you assume you’re the smartest in the room?”

- Desdemona’s moodboard was made like an obituary and the title was “life is too short to be all black and white”
