Now lets go through them, shall we?
number 1, peter & tony. irondad. expected, considering how big the movies are. i didnt think it would be #1, but okay. and tony and peter also know eachother in other medias. i like their friendship in the comics.
number 2, wade/peter. spideypool. once again, expected. semi-canon in the comics. and then with everything with xmcu deadpool/tasm peter, im not surprise to find them so high.
number 3, tony/peter. starker. im not gonna go too into this one for the sake of getting into proship vs antiship territory. but still, tony is here twice now. interesting.
number 4, mj/peter. spideychelle, specifically. not mary jane mj. which is very unexpected, but i suppose another testament to how popular the mcu movies are. honestly very happy by this, i didnt think they'd be up here.
number 5, ned & peter. again, very happy by this lol. its interesting how much higher ned & peter is than ned/peter, though. i think this is the only instance where mc/bestie isn't one of the top romantic ships.
number 6, harley/peter. parkner. this is the one im focused on today. now, dont get me wrong, i love harley. i am... neutral toward parkner.
but how pray tell, is parkner (a pairing between peter and a side character, who he never interacted with, who appeared as a 10 year old in ONE movie that isn't associated with him) more popular across all peter parker ships than, say, parksborn. or peterflash. or SPIDEYTORCH???
or you know even sticking to the mcu. they have more than half the amount of spidechelle. peter's canonical girlfriend. they have 500% more slash fics than interwebs. than peter's best friend. now, what is the correlation here? why, do we think, are 3 of peter's top 10 pairings, whether romantic or platonic, with other white men? why is this the only instance where a proship is actually more popular than the "gay best friends" option?
