I have.. so, SO many interpretations of their relationship.. the most common one in more 'canon' terms if you so will, is if Nightmare is well a little ghostie. He actively encourages or even demands for Terror (corrupted Nightmare but im calling him this to not type it out each time..) to just.. be nice to Dream. And to kiss him. Nightmare constantly talks about Dream, he is ALL he thinks about and it shows. Terror is fed up about hearing how pretty Dream is from this little ghost child all day. It's true but god SHUT UP. Yk?? Terror has definitely attempted to hit him with his tentacles and was subsequently mocked when they went right through Nightmare.

Let's say an AU where Terror decides to be a little quirky and picks up Nightmare from another Dreamtale before he has his edgy-ifying. Nightmare probably constantly complains about having left Dream behind.. he likes not being by the village or guarding the tree anymore but he didn't want to abandon his brother like that. Who knows what those awful people would do to him if he wasn't there to take their hits?

Terror would definitely actively encourage Nightmare to be more selfish. He can do anything he wants as long as Terror's there to help. He can have anything.

Nightmare says he wants Dream, and he gets a resounding no..

It'd be even more fun to think about if Dream even made his way into Terror's castle for whatever reason, and he sees Nightmare. Both are so guilty and so confused for many different reasons.. lots of crying.
