This is my jouhikko...I love to layer its rustic sound in some of my folk songs (staccattos, plucked, rhythms) but among all my instruments it is the one I have not tamed... He is like a wild stallion (horsehair strings by the way). It is a Finn instrument. My friend Gerry Henkel (my kantele maker) once told me one day it would "sing" for me. Maybe I have not given it the time it needed so but will give it more practise. Pd. I am happy. I'm having some friends visiting.
