Hi! šš¼ Iām Kerin, the 27 year old one woman show behind all things Soliloquy. Itās been a bit since I introduced myself, so with the recent influx of new followers I figured now is a good time! Iāve been at this metalsmithing thing for 5 years, and have been self-employed full time for the last 3. I make each piece with my own two hands, take every photo, respond to your DMs and comments, collect and cut stones, write all of the descriptions, the list goes on and on! Itās a lot for one person to do, but I wouldnāt have it any other way. A soliloquy is a moment in a play when a character takes the stage alone and speaks her deepest thoughts aloud. That is what my jewelry does. It is a concentrated and intentional extension of myself. The passions that reside in the nooks of my soul pour forth with every piece I create. The themes of literature, mythology, stone collecting, and witchcraft are ever present - as they have been throughout my life even before I taught myself the art of metalsmithing. Yes, I am self taught! My degree is in English, specifically Modernist Literature, and I was the first person in my family to go to college. I used the money I got at my graduation party to buy smithing tools and my first tiny piece of silver. Iām one of six kids, born an Aries on the cusp of Taurus, and am from the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston.
