In the Grass Garden at Kew Gardens the seed heads of Bouteloua gracilis (blue grama, mosquito grass, signal-arm grass) are still looking good. This is a small clump-forming, deciduous perennial ornamental grass best used at the front of a border. It needs a well-drained soil in full sun and can be killed by wet winter soil so it needs sharp drainage.
