But… but… I'm still learning about the importance of the Velvet Underground at the time. I mean, not just having listened to their songs, but understanding their context and an innovation that doesn't seem like innovation at all now because it was so influential that it established new forms and standards for others.
But I was curiously browsing my favorite blogs and I came across a solo album by Lou Reed that has nothing to do with that, he released an album in 1975 for the mainstream circuit like those formal musical experiments that I only find in the archives of the @spaceintruderdetector blog and that I never knew existed… I didn't know this had happened in commercial music. Thanks @postpunkindustrial for pointing out the album and making me listen to it thanks to your post.
