B O G A I N V I L L E A 💜💗 LEI LOVE Simply beautiful lei, my godmother Aunty Mary taught me to sew up a lei like she did when I was a little girl (40+ years ago), she used to sell these lei to passengers off the Matson cruise ships in the 1940s as a child on oahu. This was the first style of lei I learned to make (Kui) and every time I create one, I’m sharing the aloha she has shown to me and so it goes on and on. I love that about lei making. Looks simple yet, it takes time and patience to procure thousands of bougainvillea, sort, clean and then sew.
