Both pre and post-Fall of Grismara, Datja has kept several old crafting traditions alive. Now that she has established an abode on Nexus, she has set up replicas of ancient looms and frames for making Mordesh lacework, embroidery and brocade fabrics. She will attempt to teach these skills to any who show genuine interest.
Nikolay was careful to keep seeds of plants native to Grismara with him when he and many others in the bunker were collected by the Mason’s Hammer. These he grew on the ship to keep the seeds fresh and damp, and he continues the tradition today. Deep within the lower levels of his to-be public botanical garden, he continues to breed these plants over and over in the belief that one day they can help either renew life on Grismara–although this is a slim hope he does not believe will ever be realized–or that these species can be transplanted and thrive on another planet regardless of not being natural to the habitat.
Although it was the people of Grismara that were infected, he was not certain if the Dominion would ever get tired of the quarantine and merely eradicate the planet itself before the Ravenous burned themselves out. It was in this desperation that he would collect seeds and spores of plant-life while out on expeditions looking for survivors and supplies on the surface.
