Scenting the hot summer air the delicate flowers of Ligustrum quihoui (waxyleaf privet). This is the aristocrat of privets making a large deciduous shrub with an open habit and glossy leaves. It normally flowers in late summer and early autumn and may have small, black berries.

‘Boxing clever’ - a display of Narcissus (daffodil) varieties at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London. The individual cultivars are in containers allowing them to be admired, compared and changed as needed. The display theatre is constructed from wooden crates bolted together at the front.
