Mig as Tony Tony Chopper: Doctor of the Strawhat Pirates

Absolutely hilarious. Mig said he's short, lemme be the shortest king of them all aka a 17 year old reindeer doctor. I love it. Probably chosen because all you need for it is a hat. Also funny because Chopper is the doc of the crew and I've come to see Mig as a part-time babysitter for his friends.

Vale as Trafalgar D. Water Law: Captain and Doctor of the Heart Pirates

Inevitable ever since the rumour that Law was inspired by Vale got to him. Vale is getting kudos for his fuckass sideburns, accurate sword and post-time skip hat. Things that these two have in common? Evil smirks and the title "Doctor" and the fact that they're both incredibly smart. Personality-wise Law is probably the opposite of Vale because he hates unnecessary drama and would canonically be german. But Vale has proven he knows ball because of the sword n hat. Him choosing Law is a 100000/10 from a meta perspective too becauseeeee

Luca as Donquixote Doflamingo: (former) Captain of the Donquixote Pirates and member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea

Firstly, absolutely iconic of Luca. Doffy is horrible and evil and he uses a string power to manipulate people like puppets and he's incredibly smart (like Law) and I love him. Am I sad that he didn't go with the full pink-feather jacket? A bit, but he got himself the Doffy-accurate glasses, shirt and shorts, so I'm ok. Also, Doffy is canonically 3 m tall, so it's good that Luca continues to represent tall people even while cosplaying.

Now, what is hilarious about Luca as Doffy and Vale as Law? First off that Doffy is 41 to Law's 26 and that they decided to switch ages, second off that Law was adopted into Doffy's crew as a kid and Doffy saw him as a little brother, third off because they hate each other.

A big part of Law's motivation in life is to see Doffy fall and there's a big and delightful arc about it and this is the canonical reaction to Doffy promising him anything if Law were to do a specific surgery to make him immortal before Doffy shoots him:

baller choice from both Luca and Vale, I love seeing them honor the representation of complicated families.

Pecco as Rorona Zoro: Right-Hand Man and number two of the Strawhat Pirates

Pecco also gets kudos for turning up with a sword, though I'd have loved two more on him. Or at least one ear ring. Alas, its understandable. I Love that he went with the post-timeskip outfit, its cuntier and shows off tits, of which Zoro canonically has one of the biggest pairs (Oda named him, Robin and Hancock if I remember correctly). Things that are objectively hilarious? They're truly nothing alike. Next to the fact that Zoro is very much an idiot, he'll get incredibly serious and calm and have an evil smile on his face when he has to fight someone and I don't think he'd even comprehend the word anxiety if you explained it to him. Idk if Pecco 'let me dramatically fall to my knees in the gravel' would be the right person to represent Zoro's vibe, but I love the cosplay nonetheless.

and lastly because I don't know the other people and Bez n Franky don't seem to have dressed up.

Cele as Portgas D. Ace: (former) 2nd division commander of the Whitebeard pirates

Absolutely the most accurate one out of all the cosplays. Things Ace does that I think Cele could do if he were and anime character: Dine and Dash, narcolepsy, walk on board of a random ship because he smelled good food, attacking the wrong guy because he has both a similar name and face to the man he's actually searching for, being very easily rage-baited and not backing down from a fight. You get the point, perfect choice, Cele, lowkey funny because Ace uses flame powers vs Cele's waves.

motogp itself has some health and safety precautions and regulations about the whole alpha/beta/omega thing, because the sport is a high stress enviorment, and things like surpressors and rut-partners have to be listed. There's more to it all, but the primary reasons rn are to eliminate the possibility of doping, and so that medical can call in said partners in case of emergency. They really don't want to run the risk of somebody breaking out into a rut/heat because of the dangers it can pose to everyone in paddock. No need to get distracted and possibly take out ur competitors while racing at 300 km/h and endangering personal and all that.

now, Pecco is having his not good, very bad time and his rut didn't hit between austria and britain that year and he's stepping into aragon on the surpressors he can get his hands on and waits for it to hit after the race.

the crash happens instead and an already tense and pre-rut brained Pecco goes searching for Alex because he's pissed and hurting and everything sucks. They end up loudly and aggressively arguing in Alex motorhome before shit hits the fan and they dry hump against the door because they're both full of stupidity and hurt and hormones.

it accidentally triggers Pecco's rut and Alex decides to help him through it, while they both very quickly write each other down as the percpective rut-partner before Pecco could get hit by a penalty over this. Neither of them expects this to lead to much of anything, except that Alex is genuinely good for Pecco's stress levels and his now fucked cycle, and he keeps getting called in by medical or to the garage to hold him and let him scent Alex and shit. The wdc fight is hard and Alex is always there anyway and Pecco's ended up getting a bit attached to him after the whole aragon-rut incident. Hindbrain being stupid and all that. It helps that the sex is good, Alex can't lie, and they're both very ' I don't have to Like you for the instincts to think you're ok. Nor for the sex to be good' about it all. Maybe it's even fun. Sometimes. Whatever. They're only helping each other out.

said stupidity leads to them continuing to put the other down as their rut partner and somehow it's the end of 2025 and they're still doing this shit and hanging out together because it's calming or whatever and now both of them feel weird and territorial whenever somebody mentions changing the set up. All very soap opera stuff for my personal entertainment.

a fun headcanon for this one? Alex gets kinda dumb during his ruts and Pecco doesn't know whether he's annoyed, horny, or charmed about it. Something about Alex being overly affectionate and touchy and horny vs him having to careful time when he can go and piss in peace.

Pecco didn't really enjoy how needy he gets during his own ruts, but it got circumvented by Alex being down to clown and really fucking into it. Alex is the one that also ends up feeling weird about his own rut-brain because he can end up very honest about his feelings, which wouldnt be much of a problem till he realises he's potentionally crushing on Pecco and his hindbrain tries chanting MateMateMate at him.

something that's very dear to my heart is that Alex is the verse of all verses. He'll bottom, he'll top, he'll be more sub and more dom because he has fun like that. He'll be down to clown and for him to be flexible depending on the situation and partner simply means there's more ways for him to enjoy sex. Pecco meanwhile has more traditionally masculine-coded features like body hair and visible muscles, only to flaunder with his masculinity because I love repression with him. Pecco has his horrible not good 2025 season and his lackluster performance activates the official 'get preggers'-clause in his contract; sit out the next season and give ducati/dorna a racing baby for the future. There's some more detail in it all, (every rider is part of it; active champions can refuse; contracts vary from person to person because of how tight they've managed to make it; differences between riders that can carry out a pregnancy and those who don't; u can make up so much stuff fr) but you mostly need to know that Pecco can technically get out of it, but doesn't plan to

becaauuuuussseeee Pecco is actually really kinda down with this. Like, hell yeah, let him sit one out, have that kid he's always dreamed of, be paid for it all, and not spiral into the depression that another shit season could bring him. But only if it's on his terms aka he can have a say in who it is he gets to have a bunch of sex on company pay/time with.

The thing with that one is that Pecco wants to have those choices without people realising both that he's making said choices nor that he’s doing this out of his own, free will, because it could fuck up his image as a rider. Coming in and saying 'yeah, just let me miss a year to have a kid because the last two years were kinda shitty and I don't want to go into another soul crushing season and instead have my brain fucked quiet' isn't exactly what you want to hear from ur rider. Which is where Pecco decides to make use of his gentleman/martyr vibe

instead of it being cowardly, now it'll be an almost heroic sacrifice for the good of motogp. Of Course Pecco will do as the ducati/dorna overlords say, he's such a good lil Peccochino, look at his suffering madonna expression.

But as said before, Pecco only wants to do this if he gets to have a say in who he has to spend a pretty intimate time with, but he wants to do that without losing his martyr thing. It'd fuck the whole image up if he's so willing to graciously lay down on that block to have his head chopped off only to then start complaining about the axe they're using, right?

aka, he's absolutely gonna try and machiavelli this situation, because, as Mig has said, Pecco always knows what he wants. Now it's just about getting there. Enter the Marquez name.

Look, if you want a racing baby in motogp with the current grid (cant get the old one involved anymore because looney tunes logic), you Will want that delicious delicious Marquez name attached. Of course, they start poking Marc about it immediately, which is. Hm. Neither Marc or Pecco are particularly thrilled about that one, they have their nice, arranged marriage going on, but. no. (u know me, u know what this is about)

They've tried to get Marc to do this one a couple of times and he's managed to wiggle out of it all and no offense, Pecco, his type veers more older Italian cult leader, and That isn't something Dorna could make happen. But they're still trying to get that Marquez name into this, which is how Pecco brings up the great solution of Alex.

I'm not completely sure if Pecco starts into this whole thing with Alex in mind, buuuuuuuuttttttt probably? He'll know that the power that be want 'Marquez' stamped on that bebe. And it plays into Pecco nawt being That Great Actually, which is a very big part of what makes alecco so fun to me. They're selfish bastards and bring it out in one another and I think it's great. Made even more fun if Pecco still has that tinsy bit of a childhood crush on Alex, the one he could never quite shake, so when he saw that clause activate he started to Plan. Also, Pecco is nawt facing how manipulative he's being here. Like, that's such an ugly word :/ He just thinks he also deserves good things,ok? Everybody else does it too, Pecco's simply doing it in his own way, without having to ask for stuff directly. That would look selfish afterall, and he's a gentleman *honk honk*

(I have this image in my mind of Pecco thinking about it all, of having Alex as his partner/fuck-buddy/baby-daddy/whatever in this. Because he has that sorta childhood crush, a remembrance of their time as teammates, but then the divorce happened and Pecco never thought about getting with Alex after, not while the Marquez' are enemy number 1. But now they're both adults and he's never quite stopped looking at him like that and Pecco just knows he'd be so good at it. Stands in the kitchen, staring at nothing, thinks about Alex training with those moto3, moto2, now even motogp kids; how he checks in with the rookies, all gummy smile and support and, “he's so good with kids” says one Pecco Bagnaia, thinking about that smile directed solely at him. Luckily for Pecco, Alex has decided to put himself into the conversation completely independent from Pecco’s plans, yay

Alex’ official reasoning is that he's not gonna watch dorna/ducati try to get Marc stuck in this mess (Marc isn't toooooooo worried, his contracts are air-tight, ur not gonna force that man to do anything he doesn't want to, but it’s not like it’s fun to explain ur employers that no, he doesn’t wanna fuck his coworker); his much more selfish and private reasoning is that he'd really love to have kids, but you need a partner that understands and is willing to go along with the whole 'professional moto-athlete' shebang, right? And sure, he doesn't know Pecco that well (anymore), but he's nice and they are at a point where they can joke together and Alex feels like he'd be a good parent to a moto-kid and. well.

He thinks about Pecco waiting for him in bed, smiling all sweet and pleasant before asking him to join and that sure is an image. He's pretty sure most people on the grid would be down to fuck Pecco and he's certainly not above that. Now you're telling him he has a chance to fuck him raw a whole bunch? For the sole purpose of getting him preganant? Backed by company money that'll secure the future of the family he wants?

and that's kinda the set up of this au. Both of them are going into this for their own reasons and are trying to play it off as something selfless, though Alex did start because of Marc first and foremost.

Now. I've talked about premise stuff. Lemme talk a bit about their dynamic at the start because it's lowkey funny. To me.

Because Alex is under the impression that ducati/dorna are assholes for pulling this shit on Pecco and thus tries to be respectful and NiceTM. Which Pecco is soooooooooo making the most of because oh, oh he loves all that sympathy and worry and sometimes even indignation expressed for him, he's not saying SHIT. Besides, look at his massive wet eyes. He could neevverrrrrrr. (Under all the horny this au is mostly about alecco being selfish freaks that find far too much joy in their sicko situation, they'll always be riders)

but that means I wanna talk a leddle bit about their first time fucking on company time. 

They had a horrible meeting before meeting in their special track side motorhome that Dorna pays for. It had Gigi and Davide and Nadia sit in, a couple of lawyers too, while they went over stuff like 'penetrative sex' and 'schedules' and ‘plugs’ and all that shit, which mostly exists for my entertainment. Corporate meeting but make it about your two employees having sex to get a kid. Jingle Jingle

But now you have both of them together, alone, and it's the weirdest situation that either of them has ever found themselves in. He pulled it off, what the fuck, this is really a thing that's gonna happen now

And Alex and Pecco are looking at each other at first, kinda measuring the other up because. hm. how do u approach ur not rival in the name of fucking him raw when you’ve never so much as made out before? Luckily Alex is still Alex and asks with his usual bluntness 'so, how do you wanna do this?' and Pecco wants to avert his eyes almost but maybe they could, like, kiss at first? to get a feel for the other, that would probably be good, right?

and Alex has fucked around more, making out with someone isn’t that far out for him, so he shrugs and goes 'sure' but he's still trying to be respectful about it all. Much more focused on categorizing Pecco's reactions than he'd normally do with a one night stand. Pecco's position is already shitty enough, Alex doesn't want to make it worse for him (in his mind)

but when he kisses Pecco, gets a lil hitch of breath as he leans in, a gasp when he puts a few fingers under his shirt, maybe even a barely audible whimper when he gently bites down on his lip to get him to open his mouth so Alex can Really kiss him, Alex realises that ok, yeah

And when he leans back again to look at Pecco, see his face and reaction, his eyes are so big and his lips stay parted, cheeks and ears dusted red, and They Can Make This Work.

Because Alex has imagined fucking Pecco, sure, but he didn’t know what to expect in the end, if they’d just end up having the most soulless, dry sex because Pecco hates everything about this and just wants to get it over with, if they’d be completely incompatible etc. or if they could at least have a nice time while they have to do this.

So when Pecco turns out to react so beautifully, whine at Alex taking a hold of his hips to press them together, it's like a jackpot that Alex will feel lowkey guilty for hitting in a bit

But he’s still checking in, keeps looking at Pecco, asks what position he wants etc because he's trying very hard to be mindful of the objectively hard situation Pecco has found himself in, not knowing that subjectively Pecco is riiiiiiiiggggghhhhhttt where he wants to beeeeee

And oh, when I tell you, Pecco is loving it. This is nice. He’s tipping his head back so Alex can leave kisses down his throat, have his hands pushing up Pecco’s shirt, and feel Alex’s questions spoken into his skin and y e s. He doesn’t get to have this, to be treated so delicately, so carefully, so respectfully, and this is Good. He really finds joy in his martyrdom and victim role and he's playing it up a bit because he really really enjoys how caring it makes Alex. Lets him pretend that this thing between them is real, the way Alex asks what he wants, how he wants it as he’s kissing his way down Pecco’s stomach. Can be all soft as Alex stares at him with that uncanny Marquez StareTM while down on his stomach, Pecco’s legs parted to make space for him because Alex said he’d eat him out, make sure he’s comfortable and stretched.  

And Alex does his best to follow Pecco's lead for now and accommodate his needs, which makes for a very heady mix because he gets to see Pecco looking all sweet and pretty and with his big eyes and his parted legs. Looking, for all intents and purposes, like he was made for this. And it sure as hell feels like it too when Alex is pressing into Pecco, feels his arms around him and his legs thrown over his hips, so so close and making soft noises because he’s fucked out, he’s come already once on Alex tongue because Alex commits. And after they’ve fucked and Alex asked Pecco to hold his legs for a second, they’re going for a shower and of course Pecco is slightly wobbly, makes just a smaaalll expression because its been a bit since hes been fucked like that, so now Alex reaches for him, puts an arms around his waist and holds him as they step into the small shower that they now share. They can make this thing work and Alex wants that and now he’s helping a drowsy Pecco clean up.

And that’s what I mean with it’s lowkey funny. Because Alex is going into that shower with Pecco, makes notes of stuff he’d never bother with on that level with another hook-up, but they’re both wrong and also soooooooooo right.
