Goodbye
Kind of contain Spoilers to Boruto Manga chapter 56!
....................................................................................
She couldn't sleep. Whole day was very stressful for her, but now lying in bed, she couldn't find anything that would distract her from thoughts that haunted her. Irritated, she got up and put on her fluffy-pink robe over the top and shorts in which she usually slept. She didn't have the strength to look for her glasses, but since she started training her Sharingan, her eyesight has improved slightly.
She went out on her balcony to get some fresh air, but she still felt weight on her chest. So much has happened... Isshiki's attack, Momoshiki took control of Boruto's body, her dad lost an eye, and the Seventh lost his power. Their team was disbanded, and neither of them could go on missions, nor could they meet Boruto, because of his current fame. The only positive was that Kawaki was freed from Karma ... However, the process of unpacking Boruto's Karma continued.
Her hands tightened on the railing. Nobody told her exactly what would happen when his Karma reach 100% and she didn't dare to ask, even though she knew the answer deep down. She felt the metal in her hands begin to deform like plasticine.
âShitâ she hisses looking at the damaged railing.
â I did not expect you here this late at night.âshe heard his voice. She was so distracted that she didn't even notice his presence. His chakra had changed, it was much cooler than a year ago. Maybe she wasn't a sensor, but why hadn't she noticed it before? â We haven't had much time to talk... A lot things has happened...â
His voice was calm, but she was able to sense his unease. She should support him now, but she couldn't look at him, not when she was mess like this.
âI'm leaving the villageâ her hands began to shakeâI have to start training intensively to control it, and if I stayed here it would be too dangerous for everyone.â
Team 7 was not only suspended. It was falling apart. Not only they will not fight together, they will not even see each other anymore.
âUncle Sasuke and I are leaving at dawn and I wanted to ...â So her dad is also leaving, she should expect it at this point, but it still hurt. She lost two of the most important people in her life. She felt tears dropping from her eyes, her breathing become uneven.
"Sarada ... Sarada turn around ...â all she was able to do was shake her head.
"I wanted to talk to you before... Are you mad at me for your dadâs eye?" His voice was lower, uncertain. She was angry, but not at him ... Not only at him, she was furious at the Otsutsukis, for everything they did to their planet, she was angry at her dad for taking Boruto to fight Momoshiki, she was angry at herself because she did nothing to stop him then. She was angry with him because he didn't take care of himself. She was angry and scared and...
âSarada ... Look at me ...â he was worried ... at that moment he was worried about her âWhat happened?â
âWhat happened? YOU ARE DYING!âThe scream that came out of her surprised and scared even herself. She covered her mouth with her hands. It was the first time she had uttered what she really feared the most. Uzumaki was also shocked by her behavior, but did not deny her words. She felt weak, as if someone had just taken the ground from under her feet. However, instead of falling on the cool balcony floor, she found herself in a warm embrace of her friend.
"It's not that bad ..." she heard his slightly hoarse voice. Under normal circumstances, she would yell at him for downplaying everything and call him an idiot. Now she hugged his waist tightly.
He hated seeing her tears. He hadn't witnessed them often, and he had only seen her like this once in his life, when they were still very young. Her face was pressed against his torso, as if she was still trying to hide her moment of weakness from the world. He gently stroked her back, ignoring the fact that his shirt was getting wet. Sarada has always had a tendency to hide her emotions until something explodes within her.
âHow can you be so calm?â She asked, so quiet that he hardly heard her.
He wasn't calm at all. He was terrified, though he was ready to die, he was still afraid of it, but it was nothing compared to losing control and become a mortal threat to everyone he loved. He didn't want to leave his family and friends, but training was the only way to harness Momoshki's power. He hugged her tighter. Despite they had argued a lot, Sarada had been by his side as long as he could remember. The vision of a part with her was more painful than he had realized.
"Everything will be fine, I'll learn to control it." he said, pressing his cheek against her hair. She moved away from him and looked into his eyes. Her sharingan was active and her cheeks were puffy from crying.
âHow can you know that? How can you be so sure ...âHe cupped her face and gently wiped her tears with his thumb.
âI made a promise. I will be your right hand, I will protect you ... I always keep my wordâ he smiled softly.
More tears ran down her cheeks.
"Idiot ... You are ... so annoying," she replied weakly, cuddling up to him once again. This time, he also started crying. They stood holding each other for a long time, like they were holding a lifeline.
She felt the boy put something around her neck. When she looked down, she saw his necklace.
"Remember ... you once said that I should wear it because it reminds you of a bolt..." he said, moving away from her so that they were only holding each otherâs hands.
âIt was so long ago ... we were maybe 4 years old?â although they understood each other almost without words, the boy was still surprising her.
"I want you to have something that will remind you ... that I will come back ..." he replied, walking towards the railing. Boruto, he always triggered emotions in her like no one else. Emotions so strong that she was afraid to name them, especially now when it would be too painful ...
"Wait!" She exclaimed, grabbing his sleeve.
"Sarada ... I really have to ..." he sighed sadly.
"I know ... just..." she took a deep breath and slowly raised her right hand, then gently poked him on the forehead.
The blond blinked in confusion and touched the place between his eyebrows.
"See you soon," she said, smiling sadly.
"Bye" replied the boy, and jump from her balcony. She was left alone again, and her emotions were even more mess than before, but thanks to her friend's promise, she found new hope. The next time they meet, they'll both be ready.

@borusaraweek2021
I know Iâm terribly late but preparation for Easter and studies took too much of me time ;-;
This year Borusara week was so amazing! There were so much amazing content to see and read^^
Also very late Happy Birthday to our Cute Peanut Sarada and even later(?) Happy Birthday to Boruto^^Â
Little promise
âI want to ask for your son's hand!âNaruto choked on the milk, and Hinata put down the pink scarf she was knitting and looked surprised at the five-year-old black-haired girl, then she looked at her madly blushing son standing behind his friend.
âW-what ..?âasked Hokage candidate  as soon as he caught his breath.
............... 1 hour ago ..........
Boruto wasn't sure what he thought about Sarada. They often spent time together because their parents were friends. He generally liked to play with her. She knew how to make paper shurikens and was the best at throwing them at the target (not that he would ever admit it out loud). However, she was a girl... and since she started her friendship with Cho-cho, she was even more girlish. And Shikadai said girls are troublesome, and he is the smartest guy in their pack. Also Sarada was kind of weird, shy around strangers, when they play together with others, she rarely spoke. However, when it was just two of them, she was very bossy and sometimes scary when she got pissed off. She was acting even stranger now. Since she came to his house, she had been sitting at the carpet drawing something. She was grumpy and didn't speak to him at all. He was about to leave her, when he heard a soft sob.
He looked towards his friend who was wiping her cheek with the sleeve of her sweater.
"Are you crying?" He asked, getting closer to her.
"O-of course not" she replied, looking away from him.
"Donât lie to me" he sighed, sitting down next to her. Girls are so weird. âWhat happened ..?â
âTwo years have passed since dad is on a missionâ she stuttered quietly âAnd Cho-cho said that true lovers are always together, which means that my parents ...â started crying again, this time she had to take off her glasses to dry her eyes.
Boruto rolled his eyes, this  is exactly why she should spend more time with him not with Cho-cho.
âIt makes no sense! My dad gets a mission all the time and nothing happens!.
âYour papa didnât disappear for two years!âShe shouted, hiding her face in her arms  âI don't want to be alone ...â
âYou just exaggerate! Saraaada-chan, don't cry!â He snorted, poking her arm, but it didn't help. âI will not leave you alone is my promise, dattebasa!â
âYou are not my family, idiot!â
This is what he get for comforting her? Though he preferred to be angry with him rather than cry.
âUm ... But I could be ...â
He felt her confused gaze on him.
"I could be your husband ..." he replied quietly. He wasn't entirely sure about this plan. Shikadai told him that marriage also is troublesome. On the other hand, if he had to marry someone, it would better be Sarada than some strange woman ... And this way he could make sure that she did not cry anymore.
âUhhh gross! When you are married you have to kiss and do other lovey-dovey things! âShe squealed.
âWell, yes, but I thought about that ... maybe we can make an agreement? I mean no kisses and being sloppy like parents ...â suddenly he felt terribly embarrassed and sad at the same time? Sarada's refusal hurt a lot more than he had expected. Itâs not that he like her... Like like-like her. He involuntarily squeeze his pink T-shirt, nervously playing with its hem. âWe could share toys and play and train all day until we become the most super cool ninja in the history of the village!â
Uchiha looked at him with a stern gaze, but after some time, she replied âIt sounds good, but no kisses, dirty stuff or cuddling...â
âNo cuddling !? What if someone has a nightmare?âhe asked worried.
âFine, in case of nightmare cuddles are allowed.â
âAnd what if I scratches my knee, or someone yells at us, or when I will not be able to fall asleep?â
âTch cuddles only in justified situations, no for some lovey-dovey stupid things!â she decided stretching out her hand to him âYou agree?â
âYesâreplied the boy squeezing her hand with a smileâSo now we are engaged?â
âI think so...â
âBut... Shouldn't I ask your parents  to agree or something? Just like in the movies?â
Sarada sighed and get sad again, hiding her face in her hands. But after a while she straightened up smiling.
"I have an idea!"She shouted, taking his hand and dragging him to the kitchen.
...............................
âI want to ask for your son's hand!âNaruto choked on the milk, and Hinata put down the pink scarf she was knitting and looked surprised at the five-year-old black-haired girl, then she looked at her madly blushing son standing behind his friend.
âW-what ..?âasked Hokage candidate  as soon as he caught his breath.
"Boruto and I are getting married and we need your blessing," replied determined girl. Hinata looked at her son, whose face now resembled a plump tomato. It was familiar sight to her and she was not surprised when a moment later little Uzumaki lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Sarada let out a loud scream that miraculously did not wake up Himawari sleeping in the living room. Uchiha grabbed her fiancé shoulders and began to cry again.
âBoruto, don't die! I'm too young to be a widow!â
.............................................
Boruto survived it donât worry he just get little  overloaded just like Hinata did after Naruto return to the village :3
Also donât thing that I donât like Cho-cho or something It just Boruto being jealous that Sarada get new friend and spends less time with him.
Also this fic actually could be a good prequel to Broken promise, what do you think?  Â
Festival
When Sakura told him about the festival organized by Hokage to celebrate Konohaâs friendship with Kirikagure, he hadn't expected something like this. The whole thing was like a strange combination of a concert with a party and a barbecue. It was supposed to be made in the style that festivals are organized of the northern region of Water Country. He tried to escape, but as soon as they got there, his wife was kidnapped by Ino to the dance floor. In addition, his daughter was dragged by her friend to the buffet. Sasuke sat down on the bench and watched the rest from a safe distance. Yamanaka and Sakura really enjoyed themselves. Hinata and Naruto were dancing not far from them, although in the case of an idiot, dancing is too much to say. Temari and Shikadai looked much more representative than Hokage and his wife, even though Nara had an expression that clearly showed how troublesome the whole event was to him. Just like his son, who together with Inojin played some card game on one of the distant benches similar to the one on which he was sitting now. Choji was at the buffet until his wife forced him to dance. There were also three girls on the dance floor whom he knew as his daughter's friends. They danced in a small circle with Leeâs son and two boys he did not know. Boruto, who had apparently inherited his dancing skills from his mother was very popular among young kunoichi and civilian girls that came for the party. Sarada broke his deliberations as she sat down beside him with salad to eat.
-Chocho decided to teach Mitsuki how to dance ...
He looked at her, but the girl was busy separating the tomato slices from the rest of her food.
"And you don't want to join them?" He asked.
"Not really..." she replied shifting her plastic plate to him.
âHnâ he replied eating the tomatoes left by her. The head of the Uchiha family definitely understood that you might not like this type of activities. Besides, sitting next to her, he could keep an eye on the teenagers who were checking out his daughter.
They sat like that for a long time. Sarada kept staring at the dance floor while he gave a murderous glare to any boy, who wanted to approach their bench. Until Sakura came back to them. Involuntarily, all his attention shifted to her.
âWho's going to dance me?â She asked, stretching her hands to both Uchihas, causing them a slight consternation âI know that you want this~â
"Tch," he grunted, there was no way he could be acting like a fool in front of so many people. Fortunately, this time his wife amazing gift of persuasion lead his daughter on the dance floor. The young kunoichi seemed a little nervous at beginning, but soon she relaxed and danced to the cheerful music with her mother. He smiled gently seeing his two loved ones having a great time. However, he grimaced as soon as he saw the young Uzumaki asking his daughter to next dance. His parental instinct told him to intervene just as the music slowed down. Boruto may have been his trusted student, which did not mean that he would allow him to pick up his little peanut. However, before he managed to reach the middle of the dance floor, someone put his arm around his neck and pulled him against her body. Confused, he looked at his wife, whose face was so close to his.
âSasuke-kun let's danceâ she said in a sweet tone. He knew he was trapped. He was rarely able to deny her anything, but now he was on the mission to protect their child.
âSakura ... I have to ...â
âOh Anata, let them have some funâ it did not comfort him at all.
"They are 13 years old!" He gasped in disgust as he watched the idiot's son embrace Sarada around her waist.
"Exactly and I'm sure they won't do anything stupid," she said, grabbing his face, "Sasuke, look at me ..."
He looked at her green eyes, a soft smile, her hair was gathered in a loose bun. She looked lovely, as always.
âHn.â
Sakura smiled wider and rested her head on his shoulder, and he embraced her with his only hand.
"Just relax and listen to the music" she whispered soothingly. He slowly began to relax, focusing on this moment he was spending with his wife, completely forgetting about the world around them.
.................................................. .............
She felt so awkward. Unfortunately, most of her interactions with Boruto lately have been terribly awkward. She wasn't sure when it started, they had been friends for as long as she could remember, but since when she began to be so aware of their every touch. Since when sight of his blue eyes made her heart beat like mad. Since when did he take over hers thoughts? At first she had no idea what was happening to her, but over time her mind found a terrifying explanation ... She was in love with her teammate. Whatâs worse, she thought that he noticed this, because he has recently acting really strange towards her. She couldn't let her stupid hormones destroy their  the most important friendship. Even though Boruto was annoying he was her best friend, she couldn't lose him.
âThanks for the help. I thought they wonât leave me alone!â Hers thoughts were interrupted by his voice. He was right in front of her, his hands holding her waist, while she had no idea what to do with her hands on his shoulders.
"That's what teammates are for, right?" She smiled nervously. Her eyes fell on the group of girls glaring enviously in their direction. As the son of the Hokage, Boruto has always attracted attention. With his character, he made new friends easily, and being handsome, he also made his own fan club in the village. Civilian girls and students of the last grades of the academy, to the genins and younger chunins of their village. Sarada never paid much attention to her appearance. Her clothes needed to be comfortable and neat. She didn't think she was pretty or ugly. She thought she was average, but now she felt insecure. All these girls were really pretty, and she ... she wondered if he find her pretty... Tch... annoying ...
âIs everything okay? âshe realized that she had been staring at his shirt for several seconds, and how stiff her whole body was â I know that the music is a little bit boring, but maybe you want share with me another dance ?â he added, smiling in the same way he always did when he was cheering her up. She couldn't help but smile back.
"Are you sure your fans will allow it?" She teased. The boy just rolled his eyes.
"I should have asked you at the beginning, they are too aggressive ..." he said and she blushed. Even if it's stupid, his words made her happy. When the band started to play something faster, she relaxed a bit. To her surprise, Boruto was very good at dancing and she was able to predict his movements as good as when they fought together. She quickly forgot about her worries. They danced and fooled around. She didn't notice when one song turned into two and then three ... When the melody slowed down again, she wasn't sure how much they danced together. He hugged her waist, but this time they were even closer together. They were both out of breath, as after hard trending. Feeling more confident, she embraced his neck. Looking at him like that, she felt week. He looked so handsome in the suit. In addition, the pink shirt highlighted his blue eyes. Her attention finally caught his lips. She began to wonder what it would be like to kiss him. Their faces were centimetres apart, it would not be difficult to... Suddenly she felt strongly embarrassed by her own thoughts. To avoid doing something stupid (and to hide the flush on her face), she leaned her head against his shoulder, lightly tucking her face against his neck. They swayed slightly to the sounds of a quiet ballad, and although her heart was pounding, she felt wonderful. His presence always gave her a sense of security, he smelled of a combination of the scent of the sea with some cologne probably borrowed from his dad, and his body gave her a pleasant feeling of warmth that she could stay that way forever. However, before the song ended, the boy suddenly moved away from her. She looked at him confused, and he smiled and scratched his head nervously.
â Aren't you thirsty? I saw a Bubble Tea booth here ... let's go ... âbefore she could answer, he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the stalls behind the stage. She wasn't sure what to think about it.
.................................................
The situation was bad. He was sweaty and nervous and felt like he was about to pass out. That's not good way to impress a girl that you maybe have a crush on..
"Are you okay?", She asked when they reached the booth.
"Sure, of course, why are you asking?", He blurted out a little too quickly.
"Um ... You're still holding my hand" he get even more nervous, for two months now, he had been trying to invite her for date... like date date. The problem is that despite how intelligent, person she is. Sarada remained absolutely unaware of his attempts to flirt. The little fan club following him everywhere didn't help. The problem was also that the Uchiha did not seem to notice that she herself was attracting the attention of more and more men. It started after the chunin exam, when his classmates started to have a crush on her. At first it seemed silly to him, after all, it's not that she has changed somehow. However, he quickly began to be disturbed by the boys who were courting her. He felt some strange need to protect her from them. Only after a few months he did realize that he was jealous ...
âDo you want me to stop?â The girl was silent for a long time, and he thought that he would pass out.
"No ... it's okay ..." She replied without looking at him.
"So what for you?", He asked, looking at the blackboard with flavours.
âBlack tea with kumquat and passion fruit boba.â
Hearing this, he ordered two drinks, mango and tapioca for himself. He then ignored Sarada's pout as he paid for both of them and the teasing smile the guy sent them. Even after they got their drinks, his friend didn't let go of his hand. It gave him courage.
âLetâs look for a place where we can clearly see the fireworks?â
âHn. Something far from this crowd ...â she replied finishing her tea and throwing the cup into the trash can on the path leading into Senju Park. He couldn't take his eyes off her. She was wearing a summer dress with spaghetti straps with a pleated skirt that ended just above her knee. It was red with a navy blue belt emphasizing her waist. She looked cute and beautiful, red was definitely her colour. However, as darkness fell, the temperature dropped sharply, and he was able to notice that her arms began to tremble. He took off his jacket and covered her shoulders with it.
âWell, who would have thought that you are a such gentleman ...â she teased.
"As always, of course," he replied, adoring her.
"You're sure you won't be cold," she asked, changing her tone to concerned. She always cared about others. It was one of things that make him love her. He still felt a little lost in his feelings, but he had to tell her before someone else do this before him.
"Sarada ..." he began, but suddenly they heard a loud sound. His friend, frightened, made a very not-ninja-like movement, bumping into him. Instinctively, he grabbed her by the waist and searched for the source of the noise to see colourful lights in the sky. They both burst out laughing, when they saw that they were scared of the fireworks. The colours began to light up the sky creating fantastic patterns. He looked back at her. She looked at the sky with a smile, colours shone in her black irises, giving her an almost mystic appearance. Their eyes met, and for the second time this evening he felt like a force was drawing him to her. Sarada, to his surprise, also moved closer. He wasn't sure which of them closed the gap between them. Their first kiss was soft, short, and rather clumsy, but it was also the greatest feeling of his life. When he opened his eyes, he saw her biting her lip with a slight flush on her face. He wanted to say something but heard someone's loud grunt. He felt himself freeze as he noticed purple-red eyes staring at him ...
.....................................
It was supposed to be a quiet dance party and it was like that until her husband and Naruto decided to compete in which of them is the best dancer. Unfortunately, despite their great efforts, none of them proved to be really gifted. All the competition only took their time and energy. They were supposed to go home after the fireworks, but Sarada was nowhere to be found and when they finally find them, they accidentally turned out to witness their daughter's first kiss. While Sakura herself found it cute, her husband didn't take it so easily. However, before he did something stupid, his daughter stood between him and Boruto, also with an active sharingan. It make Sasuke freeze. All he said was they were coming home.
Sarada answered him only with a short "Tch" but after saying goodbye to Uzumaki, she returned home with them. Unfortunately, she now had two pouted Uchihas in the house. Sarada immediately ran to her room, while her husband stayed downstairs in the kitchen complaining about protecting some innocent peanuts? She couldn't help but sigh. Tomorrow she would have to talk to them seriously.

BoruSara week-Day 5 Little moments.
I loved you three summers, now honey, I want them all.
Boruto and Sarada started a small routine together, the first of so many but this one started on their genin days.Â
It all began when one of them ran into the other one morning at the Konoha main street. It was lunch time but neither of them had it already because both had plans that couldnât be postponed.Â
The Uchiha was walking on the street looking at all the stores, not really interested of her surroundings, but that changed when she saw a classic yellow hair around the corner.Â
"Boruto? What are you doing here so early?" Sarada asked, it was unusual to see her teammate on the streets so early in the morning.
Boruto turned his head when he heard that voice, he would recognize it anywhere.
"Sarada. I came to the store to buy this pack of cards, the stock arrived today and i wanted to be the first one to buy it, you know!" It was obvious that he was very excited, it didn't matter if he had to skip breakfast to get his game.
"Boys are so immature, you never get on time for missions but for some cards you are willing to get up as early as possible, eh?" Sarada sighed, she wasn't mad, actually she found the blonde's reaction rather cute but teasing him was part of their friendship.
"Oh, c'mon, i don't get late all the time, you know. Besides, what are you doing here so early?"
"Mama is not home so i was thinking about going out to buy something to..." Sarada made a pause.
Boruto's stomach growled in that moment out of hunger, she guessed, the boy in front of her was dying of embarrasment and got red as a tomato.
"Something to eat." She continued and chuckled. "I guess someone is hungry, would you like to come with me?"
"Uh, sure why not?" Boruto nodded and so they had their very first lunch on a small bakery.Â
.
And that's how Boruto and Sarada started to have lunch every time they could. It wasn't an everyday thing since they both had a family and if they skipped it every day maybe they could get suspicious.
On those times when they weren't able to get together, they arranged a second option. After having lunch with their respective families, Boruto had the costume of waiting for her in her balcony, until she was ready to go.Â
They could keep walking all around Konoha and never get tired because they talked about everything, life, something Sarada read on a book, Boruto's new videogame, about missions. This little ritual became something important for them. Although they had their fights too, it wouldn't be Boruto and Sarada if they didn't argue about almost everything.Â
"I'll pay, it's my treat."Â
"Boruto! You paid the dangos last time it's my turn."
"Stop being so stubborn, i already said I would pay."Â
"Who are you calling stubborn? Don't be such an idiot and let me pay."Â
"Huh? Do you wanna fight?"Â
And the discussion would remain until someone would separate them or one of them decided to give up. This situation happened almost daily, and in consequence, the owners of different shops or random civilians got used to see a young couple fighting about almost everything at the same hour.Â
Their friends were a little surprised the first times they ran into them together, but as the time went by they got used to it as well. Even Mitsuki, who at first had a hard time locating their teammates, but it wasn't until he asked Chocho about Sarada's whereabouts that he understood.Â
"Sarada? Ah she is probably with Boruto on her morning walk, just look for two people yelling at each other and there you go."Â
Mitsuki was perplexed at this statement. He decided to follow her orders and turned out she was right. The famous duo was having an argument again, but nobody around seemed to care. He was about to interrupt them because he had received a message from Konohamaru sensei when an old lady gently tuck his arm.Â
"Wait, please, let them be."
The pale boy was so confused.Â
"But they are fighting, shouldn't someone make them stop?"Â
"Oh, don't worry, they do it every day before entering to my bakery and sharing some dangos together, he also always buys her favorite tea as an apology for his actions and she shares half of the dangos in return."Â
"Hm, i see, do you think they make a good couple?"
"They surely do."
End.
Waaaaaaa, i know iâm super late, the borusara week itâs over but i had this on my docs and i wanted to post it kdhkdf. Please leave your reviews and if you liked it, feel free to leave promps too :)Â

The crowd outside of The Leaf Hotel was getting thicker by the second, the low murmuring started to turn into an uproar when a fan found that the much-anticipated star was approaching.
âThey pulled up for take-out!â She screamed, holding up her phone. âHeâs having an Extra Spicy Thunder Burger!â
âOh my god!â Another fan screamed. âThatâs just right around the corner!â
High pitched screaming filled the street, photographers prepared their cameras, and the security took their positions by the pathway.
Sarada took a deep breath and sighed. The frown on her face was starting to look permanent. Her disdain for this crowd, Star and the whole situation just grew more and more by the second. The screaming was starting to give her a headache. Sarada massaged her temples.
âOh come on, itâs not that bad,â Inojin grinned. âYou get to see this pop star up close, get a pass,â he lifted his ID, and then wiggled his eyebrows at her, âAnd The Leaf Hotel serves the best food. Iâm seriously just here for the food.â
She took a deep breath and gave him a look. âIâm not a feature writer!â She whined. âIâm supposed to be covering topics that will get me closer to that front page spread!â She threw her hands up in the air, and for a moment, Inojin felt concerned for the recorder in her hand. âCovering things like the crashing economy, dirty politics andââ
ââall the boring stuff,â Inojin snickered. âI know youâre smart and all, Sarada. But this could be front spread worthy, too.â He lifted his camera and nudged his head towards the crowd behind them. âBoruto Uzumaki is half French, half Japanese, and where did he make it big? America. Of all places.â
She rolled her eyes. The singer had blond hair and blue eyes. His style was so mainstream he could fit anywhere they sold overpriced coffee, avocado toasts, and morning cocktails. He sang about love, living young, wild and free. It was so typical pop. Sarada loathed the idea of having to listen to his songs, read articles about him, and follow his account a month before to prepare for this interview.
She loathed the idea until she actually started listening to his songs and liked them. Not like she would ever admit that out loud. Her editor would never live it down. His Instagram was also⊠fun to follow. He always posted silly stories, and his feed photos were always on point. He knew when to look goofy, natural, and hot.
âOh come on, donât pretend youâre not in the slightest bit interested.â
